Hi, I need a new pair of headphones so I thought I might spend a bit of money on a new headset.
In the past I have spent money on things without looking at reviews first so this time I am going to make sure I get the perfect pair.

So far I have had a look at a few pairs but am unsure of what to get, 5.1 or virtual 7.1, USB connection or an analog (in which case I will buy a new sound card as well).
So, basically I was looking for some advice and recommendations and thought I would try dakka off-topic before making an account on a more specialised forum.

Thanks.

Did you know? Every sunday from 12 to 5 pm you can get a carvery for £6.95 at the pudding and pye.

I use these for my Xbox/PC gaming

http://www.turtlebeach.com/product-detail/pc-headsets/ear-force-x12/56

got them for my christmas last year and I can't fault them, exept the cable is REALLY long, but I just keep it velcroed up how it came.

the only complaint i've had is that they're TOO sensitve, the people I play with on live can hear me coming up the stairs or people talking in the next room sometimes.

The prefect example of someone missing the point.
Do not underestimate the Squats. They survived for millenia cut off from the Imperium and assailed on all sides. Their determination and resilience is an example to us all.

Its just a shame that they couldn't fight off Andy Chambers.

Corsair makes some pretty good ones as well. I think mine are the 4-Vengeance model.

Sorry, system is PC and my budget is less than £80 (I don't wont to go above £80 for the headset as I will probably be buying a new sound card too).

I also like the Turtle Beach X12 quite a bit.

I use turtle beach personally, but I've also heard good things about Creative's headsets.
