I know the guard has plenty of super-heavies as is but i figure a flying behemoth that spits out death with like 15 individual weapon systems and slowly moves through the air would be fun.
I don't know how needed it'd be considering the imperial guard have baneblades already but i think it'd still be awesome. It needs to be fairly slow though i figure it will still probably benefit from all the flying rules of 6th. I just want this to be like a flying fortress. The imperial guard knows nothing of subtlety when it comes to tanks so i think this would work. I expect it to hit like a brick to the face or you know enough bricks to make a brick house that the 'big bad wolf' or anything else would not only be unable to blow it down but would be buried under.

Is the marauder really that big? I haven't played guard in a while but i almost never played apocalypse. I haven't really seen any huge flyers that are pretty much a baneblade of the sky though.
I'm not sure if i can throw out a picture of what i mean but in my mind it's like a much larger super-heavy version of this unit from 'end of nations'.

Wingspan of 18". 400-505pts depending on variant and loadout, 3SP (same as baneblade) with AV11/11/10. Carries a helluva lot of bombs and other guns.
The Marauder is what you are looking for.

Marauder Destroyer. MUCH bigger than a Baneblade (less bulky, but you could fit 2-3 Baneblades side by side underneath its wingspan) and heavily armed with a nice variety of guns and missiles. The base alone on mine is the size of a Baneblade, and the model has more of a presence on the table than anything short of a titan.
(Too bad it costs $300, or I'd say that every IG player needs to own at least one.)

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices. |

If they could make this on forgeworld i may have trouble having any money left if allowed limitless control to my bank account. Heh my half-sister would probably think an identity thief got a hold of my bank account.

I designed least 4 of such things.
1 is akin to a C-130 gunship with earth shaker cannons and such out the port side of the aircraft
another is a flying battleship and has super heavy armor and weapons but to balence it it's sheer size prevents it from benefiting from save due to flying (except one which is called "High Altitude" which prevents it from being melee'd at all)
another is a giant transport craft capable of transporting 2 platoons (100 infantry models) or 3 tanks (leman russ/chimera etc) or when its armor and guns are stripped it can carry a Super heavy like a Baneblade, Macharius, or 2 malcadors. no titans though.
and lastly a war zepplin (which is actually being constructed) that is akin to the Kirov War Zepplin which carrys tons of Heavy Bombs but also has super heavy armor (14). Again its balenced out by the lack of flying saves such as the requirement for skyfire to hit the aircraft, logic being its so dam BIG, anything could hit it minus template weapons or melee weapons.
ill try to find the rules for them. I put them around here somewhere.....

Is that the spectre gunship? Those things are actually pretty cool and super powerful. I think 'call of duty: modern warfare whatever stupid number' and 'c&c- generals: zero hour' had one. The shots from each are so big it looks like each bullet is the size of a person though that's probably just the dirt kicking up.
Also if you could transport a titan with any sort of flying unit that you could use in the game then your opponents would beat you to death with a rusty spoon.

the "bullet the size of a person" is a 105 shell, like in 105mm wide ... hardly the size of a man

The "man sized bullet" is only 105 mm across. And it's not a bullet.
Anyway, the Maurauder Destroyer is basically our massive flying thing. It if didn't cost so much, I would own one hahaha

Gunship = Marauder Destroyer
Bomber = Marauder
Command Unit = Marauder Vigilant (no model though)
Already classed under FW rules as a "Super-Heavy" flyer.
EDIT: This is how it compares to a Russ - i think this might be Epic sclae though but just to give you potential of how big these things are....

least 2 or 3 of them are buried in this ancient thread. please note they were designed during 5th.... and really need an update.
as for a "Man Sized bullet" i've seen a real one....
no aircraft could dream of carrying the cannon that fired it..... maybe soemthing from the imperial navy (the spacecraft) or maybe a gigantic super tank or titan.

That is a 800mm shell that was designed for this:
However, this is 40k. I could see a Bomber variant with a Demolisher cannon instead of a bomb bay (Demo cannon shells are nearly as large as infantry).

I said 'looks like' as in it seems to be but probably isn't. Also the wording i used made it sound sketchy at best because i didn't know the size and usually a small little bullet leaves a big impact depending on the speed it was going.
