I am new to Warhammer and have started a WoC army. I would like to use trolls in the army but I do not particularly like the available troll models, chaos, river, or otherwise. I was thinking about using Yhetees as trolls. They seem to have the same size and lanky feel the chaos trolls do and they remind me of the frost trolls in Skyrim. I was wondering if this would be an acceptable replacement?

Go for it. This is known as 'counts-as'. As long as it's clear and unambiguous, the majority of players won't have a problem. Something similar that comes up is Vampire Counts Crypt Horrors, some people use Werewolf models for them.

It's really not an issue. As I said, just make sure it's clear what they are. Don't have 2 units of Yetees, representing 2 different unit types. Or if you do, at the very least, paint them differently.

Variety is the spice of wargaming. Go nuts with it - just don't confuse your opponent.

Gorgers look good too. I don't think trolls have to look doofy. And forgeworld has some nurgle trolls that look pretty scary and gross.

+1 to the gorger idea

It saddens me greatly to find that in the most recent Ogre book they still suck. Put that model to good use.

I disagree with gorgers sucking in the ogre book. While I am yet to actually use them in my ogre army, I will be soon getting 3 forge world plague ogres which will be used as gorgers.

Gorgers imo are good for taking down warmachines or getting rear charges on enemy units engaged by your main combat blocks.

90 points for a single model that doesn't even show up until turn 2 (at the earliest) and possibly can't charge until everyone's had a turn to react to it being there. I want to use it, but man it just seems like such a bad idea.

^^^ And that's the 4chan lesson for today kiddies!

Seriously, go for the Yhetees as Trolls, they would look great in a WoC Army and I'm pretty sure that none of your opponents would have a problem with it. As -Loki- says, just keep it clear and unambiguous. But above all, enjoy it!

I was reading the 4chan tactics page on Ogre Kingdoms whilst bored at work today, and what you typed is word for word how they describe Gorgers.... That's all....

Ah ok, I was thinking that but you said 4chan, and I thought 4chan and 1d4chan were considered two different entities.

But yeah, I agreed with it so I just shamelessly copied and pasted it, lol.

It's not that he copied. It's just really obvious that is what they are. I'd add to it they have no defense of any kind. Even bulls have LA and (often) a fist. You're paying 3x as much for 1T and W in terms of defense. As for KB/Frenzy, all ogres have it, it's called killing stuff with their fat bellies.
