I have been fully focused on trying to make genestealers good since 6th edition came out and haven't really bothered with any of my other armies too much. I really enjoyed playing this type of list in 5th edition so I was wondering if it was still viable.

It seens painful but any half witted necron player will have a jolly good time giving his scarabs their thanksgiving feast or frying them with all the gauss

I really preffer drop pods 6th edition, they just work better for me. In 5th edition I would like your list more though.

Imperial Guard 4000 points
Space wolves 2500 points
grey knights 2000 points

Mech wolves aren't terrible, but took a real hit. Av11 and 12 gets glanced to death pretty easily now. I guess it just depends on what you are up against. Foot-slogging and drop possibg wolves seem to work out better this edition. The glancing / hull point thing is only half the problem. Now that you can't score objectives from within a vehicle, it's tougher for mech lists to hold on to them as well.
In response to the necron post, crons would have destroyed tht list in 5th too. Gauss has always been one of the banes of mech lists.

Yes but back in 5th crons werent popping tanks in droves from the fire of a few warrior squads

Yes GumyBear, we're all perfectly aware Necrons exist, we just don't care.

There's only one army with Gauss weapons, so there's no need to be scared of fielding mechanized armies just because Necrons alone have a fancy trick with their weapons that lets them wreck a transport at range. Losing your transports is a fact of life in mechanized armies, and once they've achieved their purpose by getting your troops where they need to be it doesn't matter.

Space Marine mech is by no means dead, although to be perfectly honest I don't think Razorbacks are competitive anymore, especially in Space Wolves where you can easily rely on Predators, Long Fangs,Grey hunter meltaguns and Wolf Guard CM's for AT. Rhino's got better this edition in terms of mobility as you can be 30'' across the board by turn 2 if you move 12'' and flat out them, giving you great control over the board so you dictate the flow of the game. Sure, 'Crons can blow up your Rhino's, but then you can hit back with a fusillade of fire, stall their warrior blocks with assaults or blocking them, hold onto the center and rear of the board with additional units and capture objectives. Necrons aren't unbeatable or that daunting at all if you play your cards right.
