Had the new codex for about a week and I must say I'm pretty happy for most of the changes. This is a 2,000 point work in progress army so probably will change a lot to suit my needs. So we'll start by looking at a squad of Deathwing squad with lightning claws and these guys are the only ones that were done completely with a brush while the rest are done with a airbrush.

The next Deathwing squad are equipped with thunder hammers and storm shields for some anti tank and anti 2+ saves.

The third Deathwing squad is from the Dark Vengeance box set and they serve as my command squad.

Next is a Land Raider to transport the knights and anti tank support.

Then I have a Vindicator painted in the Deathwing scheme and it's generally for mass killing but always ends up soaking bullets.

I'm currently working on some Deathwing Knights but I would like to try to only post completed models unless you would like to see the progress so let me know if that is also something you would like to see.

I like the blue, the force weapons and on the captain, the armour seems a bit flat though, maybe try giving a wash to help it

Cant wait to see the deathwing knights

Thanks the thing is I do a pin washing but I do get what you mean I could try creating a sharper transition.

What about a filter to reduce the flatness? They look nice and crisp though. What's your recipe for bone?

Helpful tip for doing eye lenses on dark angels - paint them with ceramite white, then give them a wash (or a couple depending on your taste) with carroburg crimson. I used this on mine and the eyes look pretty good!

All the pictures are edited with gimp with the auto level unless that isn't what you mean. The bone armor is first coated with bonewhite (bleached bone or the new equivalent), second a 1:1 of bonewhite and white, third a final airbrush highlight of 2:1 of white and bonewhite, then I would hard edge highlight with white. The final process is to give a gloss or satin coat and then pin washing with a sepia shade which I will clean up using alcohol and a brush.

Like this. FTAOD this terminator was my first one in years. I have since revisited this model and given it a clean up

My issue is that I tend to over complicate certain process but it is a nice quick and easy tip though.

I just always preferred the common concept of painting lenses but that is all personal preference.

I apologize if the progress is a little slow but I tend to take way too much time when painting but here is my current status on the knights as well as giving some input of the outcome.

On the left is the normal but the right I did a 1:1:5 of earthshade wash, sepia, and water. This was applied to create a better shadow.

I went with this style because the green just doesn't seem right for a really Gothic or monk chapter. I hope this will be good enough till I'm finished.

It has been a while but the Deathwing Knight models themselves are done but I need your thoughts on creating a cathedral ruins scenic base. I've created a prototype but I need to know whether if it is fine or what can be changed.

Finally here are the finished Deathwing Knights that are placed on a scratch built bases to look like ruined chapel floors enjoy.

Here's also a taste of what will be coming but for now I hope you enjoy the models and try to keep up the pace.
