So, the other day I killed just enough Khymerae that my lone Death Company dread could charge into a flock of razorwings had both blood talons and laid into them with the full force of all to waste on razorwing flock with the full force of 6 attacks, hitting an average 4 times and wounding every time. He killed four razorwing flock.

When I asked my friend how many wounds the Razorwings had, my jaw dropped at an answer of 5 each. So, this meant I rolled a further 20 dice and countless more until of course, the entire squad was consumed by my death company dreadnought.

While I can't think of why, since 5 wounds caused by instant death fits under the category of 'unsaved wounds', is it possible that there is some clause that states that blood talons do not get an extra dice for every unsaved wound in an instant death situation?

You get extra attacks per wound caused. You didn't cause those extra 4 wounds per base, the models just lost them all due to ID.

You only caused 5 "unsaved wounds". The ID rule then reduces the remaining wounds to 0. The razorwings do not suffer 4 more "unsaved Wounds" from the first wound with ID.

I think you've done this wrong, the number of unsaved wounds is 4 not 20. You didn't inflict 20 wounds you just inflicted 4.
If you hadn't wiped the unit out you'd be looking at a combat total for the assault equal to the number of wounds on the dead models but that is a different issue.

NM Rage was changed.

4 attacks plus 2 for Rage.

It has 6 on the charge, check the newest faq they fixed the attack profile.

... There's nothing in the BA FAQ that alters a Dread profile.

Page 89 in the BA codex lists 3(4) plus 2 for Rage. 6.

The profiles from the main rulebook reference section got updated in the main rulebook FAQ.
