Are you suggesting the people who paid for shipping shouldn't get their stuff first? They absolutely should. By the way, I did not pay for shipping, so I don't expect to get mine before those who did. However, I was also in the first group of people to get dread ball season three stuff, so it comes down to luck of the draw.

Check Facebook and the Mantic forums:

Everyone in the UK is first, and those who didn't pay for courier shipping are all getting. If you paid the $15 dollars is was all for naught. You are not prioritized, nor is your stuff being sent faster.

I can understand upgrading everyone's shipment to courier since it's the cheaper option, but those of us from outside of Europe who paid extra for faster shipping are BEHIND everyone in the UK, not just those who shelled out.

They are taking care if the short lead times first, long lead times last. If it wasn't for Christmas I wouldn't care. But that's just bass ackwards, in particular when you did everything you could to ensure you'd get your stuff AFAP and then Mantic decided to implode counter-intuitive logistics.

I know the UK guys don't give a rip cause they got UPS shipping for free and first. But those of us on the other side of the world are on a tight timeline and paid to get the good stuff ONLY to ensure presents were on time. The target date of the 25th of December was the same everywhere, so why wouldn't you start abroad and not down the street. It's just one of the many perplexing decisions Mantic makes. As I've said before, it's appears to be a bunch of hobbyists running the company because most of the decisions they make related to my line of work just seem off, and some of them are just down right incorrect choices when going for maximum efficiency.

If you had read the forums then you'd have also read this:
James wrote:Guys,

When have we not sorted out issues like this? Many conclusions are being jumped to. We're going to sort out anyone who paid for courier shipping, of course we are. Also, I didn't "release info on facebook" - I responded to someone's question in a Facebook group, just like I'm responding to this thread here. I can't be everywhere at once

We'll get details out as soon as we have them, but for now, can we just assume that this will be dealt with - because it will be - and take joy in the fact that shiny deadzone toys are starting to leave the warehouse and turn up with people? Thanks!

Also delivery date of December 2013 which they're well on track for. Parcels are arriving in November for some backers which is ahead of the delivery date.

Sniff*

The gun, and the up armored walls and rails are part of the fortification battle zone.

Well the walls are. The gun is part of the defense line sprue which should come in both fortification and landing pad unless its changed.

The amount of made up gak and speculation that there always is in regard to mantic is always surprising to me, but why wait for facts and information when you can just make stuff up to give you an excuse to whine aye.

Also I am pretty sure they are currently ahead of schedule.

Ok, by parts...

I live in Argentina... I have no idea why the flag thing changed... I just realized it's a US flag on my second post now. The first one is correct, though... The rest is correct. Right address, no state, proper zip code (we do have those in South America, I kid you not!)

I am assuming it is Deadzone, since it is a 2,9 kilo (about 6,6 pounds) package. I did pay for courier shipping, like all other backers in Latin America, so it makes sense it arrives early... I was as surprised as you when I got an email from UPS with the tracking code and the bad news... Loka should be lighter, and I received my Dreadball S3 stuff on Tuesday, and it was just over 1 kilo. I am not expecting anything else from Mantic. I figure Deadzone could be HEAVIER than 3 kilos, but I didnt get any metal miniatures. All plastic for me.

I did request a refund, because as far as I can tell, other than going there myself, there is no other way to receive it without spending at least the same 700 dollars between plane tickets, hotel and taxes. I contacted a "middleman" in Buenos Aires that deals with customs, and left a message. But this is usually the kinda guy businesses hire to release large orders. IF they tell me there is a way to get the stuff by spending less than 100 dollars plus taxes, that´s the road I am taking, but I am not too hopeful. Also, if the courier is the problem (as it seems to be!), I will be having the same problems with my Loka order.

All clear now?

BTW, how do I change the flag thing back?

Also, may I add, I am truly sorry if my post sounded like trolling or an attack on Mantic. I am a huge fan, I own ALL dreadball teams, plus a lot of extras. I backed all 4 KS after KoW, and so far I had no regrets regarding quality or delivery. I was worried after I got the email from UPS, and was hoping to find that other South American backers were able to avoid it.

Also that was the gakky end of a gakky day at work, so I panicked a bit... my bad.

So, in short: I am trying to solve the issue, either with UPS or Mantic. If I can somehow get the stuff, I'd prefer that. If they could somehow send my following stuff by Royal Mail, I´d prefer that too. Let them keep the change! I just want my stuff delivered in the same city!

I didn't realize how huge the 1st gen was. From FB group:

Also, an amusing second gen pose:

Box contents:

Supposedly there's an issue with dice, where the box has 6 but it was listed as 10 during the KS. That's the only "problem" I've heard of so far.

Hmm, I'm not that impressed with the fortifications sprue. Seems very toy-like, especially the gun. Perhaps once some battle damage is added it will look better?

so wait, when should the folks in the states expect their shipments?

Yeah, I seem to remember 10 listed as well. And 10 is a better number for a 2 player game when you consider things like aim, helpers for blaze away, and roll ups from exploding dice. I've got two strike teams coming and recently picked up 10 extra to use for the beta, so I'm not going to mind (not to mention mars attacks eventually, will be inundated with d8s =/ guess it'll keep my clerics happy ) only getting a dozen instead of 20. However, for folks who just got the one set, it will be a real PITA to play with just 6 dice for two players.

Rest looks awesome, but I'll have to see that 1st gen in person to really grasp it's size. It looks huge, but my brain isn't registering *how* huge.

@Triszin, optimistically we could hope they start shipping stateside (and Canada) on Monday. But don't get your hopes up too high, I think part of the issue was sorting out customs or something, so there could always be further delays. But since they've seemingly had to upgrade everyone to courier shipping, once they do start rapid firing packages our way, we ought to get them sooner than not... at least I would assume.

I think the fortification sprue is way cooler than I was expecting and I'm glad I got at least 1-2 of them ( I... think? that or I went double down on landing pads instead, all I know is I'm getting some defense line sprues). The thicker walls actually look better than I had expected, the gun is really beefy and objective-worthy, and wasn't there something about a larger gate/doorway? Its a bit fuzzy now, memory lame and all that.

While I realize folks may not be crazy interested in this during the deadzone shipping frenzy, they did update the graphic for the Christmas Crazy Box:

This one shows the dreadball giant and mvp, as well as some marauder grunts, skinny elves, dwarves, what looks like a wrecked raptor (didn't even know that existed) and maybe an iron ancestor or something with some other sprues behind. Obviously it states all the contents will vary (although you get your giant and mvp).

Was just perusing the website and figured I'd pop that on here for a change of pace

I'm going to pick a couple of those up, but was hoping to wait until more deals had been released so I could see if I wanted them. Are more still coming after the $100 ones SS posted in the KoW thread? Was half hoping for the messenger bag too ; p

Last year's box was roughly equivalent to this one, sans guaranteed DB giant and mvp. Dunno about the bag. I hadn't considered getting two actually... Hrm. Gonna let someone gift this to me since it's a fairly easy thing to get and I'll be genuinely excited about opening it I was gonna add a couple of things to the wishlist so free shipping could be had but I just checked most of those off by accidentally indulging in MM's black friday mantic goodness. Good idea Yonan, why *not* double up on my random goodness and get free shipping into the bargain, for just $10 more than I was gonna make the order out to be

Now to find some poor soul who likes me enough to get me presents

Hahaha exactly! I may have done similar, buying my own presents "from" people... win/win imo! ; )

edit: I got my (retail) Dreadball season 3 yesterday, I can confirm that the new restic is much nicer to work with, easier to clean, holds nice crisp detail etc. just as we saw with pictures earlier. Very happy Deadzone is made with this stuff as imo, only multi-part hard plastic is better.

Have you tried cutting it. As in, in half, for repositioning limbs or cutting of the integrabases? That's the property that I'm most interested in at the moment, since I've got a couple hundred minis coming (well less until second wave arrives) that are going to need to be prepped for acrylic bases.

I was going to see about fashioning an energy fist Sgt too, but I seem to have used all of mine up on the last project. Pity, but what would I ever have done with three of those! I'm definitely going to make a solid attempt at a fusion gun or two.

Got mine delivered this morning UK time, first impressions:

I went for a Vanilla strike team pledge with an additional rebel faction starter, that alone is a lot of stuff.

The models: The casting is more crisp than I saw on a lot of the early dreadball figures, mould lines are still an issue though. Some will be an absolute pita to remove. As ever larger figures (Plague 1st gen, terraton etc) are less prone to mould lines.

Some fiddly bits (heads etc) but most people used to putting together miniatures will have no problem with construction. Lack of instructions may be an issue for those that do not have much experience.

The terrain: Great casting and lots of it, will have a go at putting some together asap and will get back. Almost limitless potential.

Game mat: A great piece of kit. A bit crumpled in transit but nothing a few hours with a heavy book will not sort out. I expected the printing on it to be a bit crisper, but that is personal taste. Paper mat seems useable enough too.

Card components: Nice quality, great printing will probably tire over time with extended use.

Rulebook: The e-copy showed the great layout and copy
but loving the lightness of the book.

Overall I am very happy with my delivery, will try and get some pictures up asap.

Thanks for the quick review Thraxas! Good that you're mostly happy with it, the mould lines do seem to be a constant problem with restic.

Haven't cut 'em up yet Grim so not sure sorry, just cleaned them so far.

Has anyone got any pics of the landing pad sprue?

Mine has been showing ready for processing since 27/11, no sign of movement so far.....

7.1 KGs of plastic goodness on the way, can't wait!

Was hoping to have for the weekend so i could get it made and try it out Tuesday at my gaming club, oh well. Can't complain as at least its going to meet it KS date, unlike some other KS i'm on (looking at you Robotech and Relic knights! ).

After just an initial mess around with the battlezones the clip system works really well, is simple and intuitive. I think we will see more creative people than me do some brilliant things with these. I think I will glue mine for added stability though.

Thanks for coming through Thraxas! Dat mouldline ; p Mouldlines are pretty easy to cleanup though, and beat the opposite - needing to fill in gaps. Thanks for the pics! Nice and sharp. Seeing the first gen like that... he's beautiful ; ) I really like the marauders, everything seems to have crisp detail as hoped.

Do the terrain clips seem durable to you? They won't break that easily with repeated assembling?

edit: The dwarf tart on the left in the second pic, does she have washy details or is it just the angle/light?

A few pictures of the standard battlezones that I got with my strike team pledge:

From left to right I got 4 of the sprues on the left, 2 connector sprues and 4 of the sprues on the right.

I got 8 of the sprues on the left and 4 of the sprues on the right.

Also pretty sure that I got a couple of extra bags of rebs/plague models.

@Carlos: they are not to bad to remove, the difficulty is obviously not wanting to remove any detail with them.

@Yonan, that is more the angle and light to be fair, then again her face is pretty flat. The connectors seem durable enough to me, those and the bulkheads have a certain heft to them.

Mould lines forcedme to stop my unboing last nice, some are really rough to get rid of and the material is a bit harder than I'm used to which is giving me a bit of frustration. Some of the models are a royal pain to build without the instructions and I'm hoping that 2 of my marauders without heads have them in a different baggie otherwise I'm down by 2. Havent touched anything beyond the marauders yet but the weird tracked weapon has no instructions and is a real pain for me to figure out.
