I might have missed it, but what's included in the battlezone? everything in that big pic? I wanna get some of their terrain kits, but that's probably too much for me to ever build, let alone paint

Looking at the image you can see only 1/4 of the image was built the rest is photoshop. In the built 1/4 I can see enough parts for at least 1 landing pad Battlezone, 1 Ruined Battlezone (maybe 2), 3 Fortification battlezones and 6ish Coreworld Battle zones. That's just on a quick look I haven't actually counted out individual tiles (life's too short!) so multiply that x4 for the whole set up.

The boosters by themselves have always sucked. 4 boosters for $60 bucks. The booster bundle, which are 2 for 50 is a much better deal, since that works out to 6 boosters for $50.

Mantic can even rip off "One Click Collections" from GW.
Of course, they'd probably screw it up by including a discount...

So, it looks like the only difference between the KS starters and retail is 1-2 medium guys, right? Mini market has them for $28 vs the KS $35, so it seems better to wait on starters if you are adding them individually.

Why go big when it's a skirmish game? You don't need 100 minis to play Deadzone.
Though I'll admit the rules are confusing with artillery having such a long range...
They kept adding so much on to the game that it's now almost a competitor with Warpath..

Well, yeah, but I got 5 in Strike Team package and got everything but the Asterian starter, so its pretty much add one to get em all. Guess waiting for retail is probably better for me on this one issue.
I know the striders are 2 for 1 - is the Goblin-bot also 2 for $20? Thanks guys!

Figures that it's cheaper than buying it as a backer. $25 each for the two boosters. $8-12 per special character. $10 for the book (granted it was free at most pledge levels).

The Striders sound like they're going to be pretty cool. I'm glad I've got some ordered. I'd still kind of like to add some extra Forge Fathers, but it seems that Tamburlaine doesn't want to split a booster now. I guess I'll just have to be happy with my pile of Asterians. Let's see, I'm going to have to have at least one Char custom... make the Black Talons into Black Trinity... Convert a Cypher Prime into a Gouf...

That is sadly true of a good few things on both KS surveys, boosters seem cheaper at retail across the board and so do special characters especially once the discount retailers (basically most bar direct from Mantic) get hold of them. That said I am not going to complain that entry level into the game is cheaper than perhaps even Mantic expected, it just means a bigger community to play the game with.
(Please note that this is a snark free post, they are possible).

@ Agnosto: I completely get where you are coming from, ultimately we (I assume) all want the miniatures and games companies to get better. That is not going to happen without honest, but also constructive, feedback whether it is about rules, miniatures, missing bits, previews or whatever.
From the general gist of your posts I would have never guessed that you feel that way about Deadzone, I am glad that you do. I too like the game a lot, we will see if that changes come delivery time for the 2nd survey in June/July.

My lengthy communications with Ronnie and Stewart via email tell a different tale. I've unfortunately used this thread to vent my frustration when the company has proven unable to stop making what I see as the same mistakes over and over. I probably wouldn't continue to post here at all if I didn't want to see Mantic succeed as a company. I DO have better things to do than vent my spleen, like work on my thesis.

Core worlds, fortifications, landing pad, ruins. Everything in the pic is a retail product other than the board its standing on (and even then, you can get a custom hard plastic board made by Secret Weapon). I would hope that if they show an impressive pic like that then they'd have a single click once and done (hey can't call it the same thing as GW!) deal to buy what you see. It's a nice pic and it might be a good idea for them to have a discounted megapack for the retail market. I'm also curious if each of those tower levels has a side facing open to actually put a fig in!

A set up like that even at discounted prices is probably more expensive than it's worth to put up for sale (although it doesn't stop GW from doing it ). I think there are about 40 Battlezones* in the full set up that's $1,000 at KS prices even at 20% off that's $800 I wonder now many would sell at that price?
* not every part of the battlezones are used I don't see any X panels for example.

Ah, I was thinking that was significantly less than that due to legendary Mantic discounting. Even something with half that volume of parts (don't need more than one or two towers on a typical table and some of those first floors seem relatively unusable for actual gaming purposes) at around $150 would be quite useful. Again, I say that as someone completely oblivious to the actual prices of the terrain kits so YMMV.

Yeah you could drop 3 Landing pad Battle zones and a few towers, create some more open space, use some of the panels they haven't used like the X panel.
You might do it all in 25 Battlezones (or even less if your willing to do some flat parts in card/Plasticard/MDF)
25 Battlezones is $625 bulk deal for may be $500. (Remember I'm using KS not retail prices here so retail might be a bit more).
I doubt they would be willing to split battlezones up to remove the less used sprues as they would be stuck with them.

Was skimming and I saw some complaints about the pricing - can someone go into more detail? On my KS survey the teams are $25 and the booster bundles work out to $25 each, those prices are much lower than even online discounters, so is there something else I'm missing? (if it's cheaper online somewhere then I'd rather save a few bucks)

The complaints are about the individual boosters at $20 in the KS.
But then, fairly obvious that those were a horrible deal even during the campaign itself.
My only regret is not buying more individual Kraaw, those things are one of the few actually good units that the Rebs have... 4+ Fight, AP 1, blast weapon for 6 points = yes please.
It does everything the sorak can do with its blaster (you don't need to hit with it, so its shoot of 6+ is not a problem), and can put up a good melee fight as well. Excellent all-rounder.
As it stands I'll have to buy a couple more Rebs boosters at retail to get the 4 Kraaw I want. £25 for 2 minis (really have no use at all for the other stuff in the booster). :(
Might have to see if I can convert some Kroot instead.

What else did you expect?
As far as I know there's a big terrain bundle box coming out for £100 retail, should have about 5 battlezones in it according to Ronnie, something like 3 core world, 1 landing pad, 1 fortifications. Highly likely that that is the quantity of battlezones used to create the 2x2 board shown in that image (seems to be mostly core worlds with a small amount of landing pad/ fortifications).
Also, from now on, they're including more connector sprues in the retail boxes.
The terrain releases should be Mantic's answer to the (now OOP) Imperial City box that GW used to make. I've got another 5 battlezones incoming in addition to the 2 I already have, but still think I might end up buying even more.
I've decided that removing roofs or walls during gameplay is just too much hassle for deadzone, so I'm going to make a ruined set for that game, and intact buildings for Warpath.

Sadly it's also a lie. I just took a while thirty seconds to quick price it out and it's cheaper to get all of this through the Kickstarter and you get about twice as many figures.
Two booster bundles = $50 = over twice as many figures...
plus the characters = $26
book = free
I wish people would post content in these threads instead of just inventing gak.

I'm assuming that the landing pads go together like legos like the other buildings and towers. Are the ones shown (unlikely) big enough to fit something like a chapterhouse converted storm raven?
I did some additional conversion on top of that but the footprint is the same.
