So I pre-ordered the Hammerstrike Dropforce off Mantic's website a few weeks ago, which is the Forge Father's set they put up on their site. Just got my shipping notification. Has anyone else had their Deadzone Forge Father stuff ship? I was under the impression I wouldn't be getting it for at least another month.

Mind you, I'm NOT complaining, just curious.

My wife ordered the big bundle with the Book, Asterians and Forge Fathers and got shipping notification yesterday.

We were both pleasantly surprised!

Maybe they are shipping it without the Forge Guard? As far as I am aware (in as much as we have not had a KS update about it) the Forge Guard sprues have not even been finalised and moulded yet.

There was actually a last-minute material change, and all the sprues are made from pewter now.

But yeah, I'm sure it's the battlezones - big dense slabs of plastic stacked up high!

I'm terrified to find out how heavy mine is. 16 battlezones alone should be heavy.

16 battlezones is a feth-load of terrain hahaha, yeah she'll be large and heavy... and glorious!

I can confirm 3 strike teams plus lots of battlezeons was both big and heavy ; p In wave 2 I have ruins, 1xAsterian, 2xFF, 1 BOGOF for each, 2xpeacekeeper armour and enforecer plastics, 4xzombies, and probably some random stuff. No where near the size of the previous one for me but no doubt still a large box. Oh the hardback will way a fair amount too.. looking forward to that baby.

*rubs hands in glee*

I even finally put some paint on some deadzone models the last couple days!

I'mm thinking about my wave three box, seven peacekeeper sprues four enforcer sprues and a forge father sprue should be enough plastic goodness to see me through xmas.

Just wish I could add some more :(

Yeah I'm regretting only 2 sets of peacekeepers. imo Dreamforge Valkir are superior in all respects for a similar "heavy infantry" role, but hard to argue with the peacekeeper KS price. But then, I want to add more Valkir to my DFG pledge too -_-

Wave 3 in Octoberish, along with the peacekeepers and forge guard, all of the hard plastic that isn't battle zones or zombies, basically.

Sad, but true.

I may ring Mantic and see if they'll let me add on the enforcer sprues and pay by paypal, worth trying at least.

As we slip into the second week of September with no new information or communication from Mantic, I'm starting to wonder if we won't be getting the Peacekeepers and/or Forge Fathers shipping with the rest of Wave 2 after all ...in October. And now what happens with Mars Attacks shipping?

Yeah, shipping what has now become 2 waves of one KS on either side of a separate KS in the middle of Con season while running a third KS seems like a pretty sensible and competent way to do business.

hm - just checked the MA KS comments. People there are speculating October delivery at this point. That should mesh well with the Peacekeepers and Forge fathers...

Did anyone post the KS update about Mars Attack yet? Got some info on the release

Mars Attacks – The Miniatures Game is now in the building!

This is great news. Once the remaining items land from the manufacturer – items like the Novas Vira, Science Division etc, we can begin the task of picking, packing and getting your orders ready for shipping. This will take approximately 14 days whilst we bag everything up to simplify the picking line.

Remember, we’re going to have 10 days of updates to form a countdown before the first copy gets shipped. However, if you can’t wait that long, just check out these videos here…

If I end up getting some extra Enforcer sprues in my terrain-only Mars Attacks shipment, then it'll get a thumbs up from me, too.

“Good people are quick to help others in need, without hesitation or requiring proof the need is genuine. The wicked will believe they are fighting for good, but when others are in need they’ll be reluctant to help, withholding compassion until they see proof of that need. And yet Evil is quick to condemn, vilify and attack. For Evil, proof isn’t needed to bring harm, only hatred and a belief in the cause.”

Collectors book is awesome

I'll take a pic of the Resin Rebels commander, she is amazing, 100 levels beyond the standard version.

Buddy got his MA stuff recently and brought it to the FLGS for a run through. We played two games, both with me playing as Martians.

The models are very well done with minimal flash and mold lines. Compared to Deadzone, these minis are miles ahead.

It plays similar to Deadzone but is unique enough to be its own game. That said, being a DZ player, I don't know if I'd own both games. I'd probably sell my DZ to play this or just keep DZ.

MA feels complete with high production values and minimal need for expansions. It also feels more balanced (I know only 2 plays) compared to DZ. I think playtesting done for DZ helped in the development of this game.

Looking forward to pix Triszin.

@p4h, interesting thoughts. I intend to keep one for simple stuff and one for more complex stuff, but maybe i'll come around to your way of thinking that you don't need both. I guess I'll see.

I've said it before, but the marines in MA make me really excited to see what mantic can do with the corp troopers when they re release Warpath.

The galaxy is littered with the single-planet graveyards of civilisations which made the economically sensible decision not to explore space.

I'm looking forward to seeing them in hard plastic. I like the restic dudes but a little more variability in pose (and easier cutting to swap weapons, or not even having to do that maybe?) would be welcome.

It's got a letter inside saying there will be a delay on the forge guard being sent out and these should be sent in October.

Now to have a look at my shiney new toys
