Been lurking here for a while. Looking for gamers throughout the Southern Maryland area (Calvert, St. Mary's, Charles Co)

I do work around the Annapolis area, so even after hours or week night games are an option for me.

Also, have a friend of mine who just purchased a house in Arnold MD. So looking up that way aswell. Trying to find groups who play. My buddy and I have pummeled eachother into oblivion numerous times.

Currently running a BA army thats mostly painted around about 5k points, and an IG Tank Apoc list. 22 Russes 8 Supers (shooting for 30 russes and 10 supers)

I don't play much, as I have no clue where to find people. I have hung around at the Bowie bunker a couple times. Trying to find some regulars to play with. I have the 6th Edition rules, but I'm not even that good with the 5th gen ones. I have a pretty good idea of what I am doing, but consider me a relative newbie.

I live in St. Mary's County and I've been here about 5 years. You'd think with there being a base full of engineers and programmers that more people would be 40k nerds, but I generally play with some friends in the Baltimore area.

Sometimes I can convince them to drive down here but it's not often and we are SOL when it comes to any kind of FLGS.

Dang, dude. I didn't know you lived in St. Mary's. I'm about an hour away, maybe we can get some games on (once I finish assembling this never-quite-finished CSM army).

Go forth and amplify, here come the NOISE MARINES!

I play 40k with a group at High Tide Games in Sans Souci Plaza in St Marys (just north of PAX). We get together every Saturday around 1pm to talk, trade bits etc and usually start playing around 2pm. I added High Tide to the DakkaDakka store finder a week or so ago so you can look it up if you are interested.

Bring terrain/game boards if you have it because High Tide is still new to 40k so doesn’t have its own terrain yet. They do have 1 large table that’s plenty big enough for 2 games at once and if needed we push a bunch of smaller tables that they use for magic/board games together for additional space.

Are you guys gentle on newbies? I use to play back in junior high and am looking to get back into it. (No armies yet, wanted to make sure there was people who actually played around here before investing money into it.)

Yeah, I just started playing again at the drop of 7th edition. Before that the last time I played was middle of 3rd.

High Tide Games has a decent spread of 40k stuff now too and can order anything you want.

We are playing at High Tide games tomorrow (Sat the 24th). Everyone usually shows up around 1pm. Bring terrain if you have it.

High Tide actually has 40k stuff in stock now? Last I was in there was in September or so and it was just D&D, cards, board games, and X-Wing so I never really bothered to go back.

I'll have to check it out.

Yeah and they can order anything you want at a good discount off MSRP. We had about 10 people last Sat, playing, building and painting. We are still working on table space and terrain though. The plan right now is to expand the existing table space (currently we just have a single 4x9, yeah its a weird size but there is plenty of room to play 2 games at a time) with a couple 4x6 front line gaming mats that we can use on top of some of their existing tables that they have for card/board games. If you go in ask about the 40k group and give them your name, just first is fine, and email and the next time I am in I can pick it up and put you on the email list (or you could pm me the info on here if you want).

This sat might be a little light on people though because its valentines day. I have had a 3-4 respond that they plan on showing up though.

I will have to look into it. I'm super picky about who I game with; I really, really dislike competitive gaming. Plus I do all my gaming with friends in our apartments/houses as we tend to drink heavily while playing and stores tend to frown upon that. Having dice in one hand and not having a beer in the other seems pretty alien to me.

I may swing by one weekend to check things out/meet people and get a feel for the general vibe. If all goes well I do have a fully-painted urban Realm of Battle board though very little urban terrain (that is assembled) yet. I also have a 4' x 4' Secret Weapon Tablescapes board but it is unpainted.

Dr_Keenbean, sounds like you'll have to get together with me and my buddy sometime. We usually play once a month or whenever I have a weekend off, and we tend to favor extremely laid back friendly games with cold alcoholic beverages in our hands We usually play in my garage in Deale (Anne Arundel) which sounds a bit far for you, but I've been thinking about making a 40k SoMD gaming group on facebook so we can start organizing some games. My buddy lives in Lusby down in lower Calvert, so that sounds like it might be central to everyone. Let me know if your interested
