If you are about to make a tall order of foam from Battlefoam's online store, which location do you buy from?

Americans obviously get it from Arizona while people from UK and Ireland get it from the Essex I presume. But what about the rest of you?

Because I just made an order for a bunch of foam for my new Skorne army to fit in my PP Hordes bag. This would be shipped to me in Norway. Somehow the price was cheaper if I had bought it from US than UK! How? I think most of the foam is priced a bit higher for Europe. And the price for shipment was quite expensive and almost identical from both places.

An identical order of products ended up with: 108£ vs 161$.

Shipment costed 39£ vs 64$

Added together makes US a little bit cheaper according to my calculations.

Where do you live and where do you (or could you) order from?

UK

Mate, if it's outside the European union customs will feth you.

Go to the UK one, I'll bet its cheaper than when those donkey-caves get involved!

We are arming Syrian rebels who support ISIS, who is fighting Iran, who is fighting Iraq who we also support against ISIS, while fighting Kurds who we support while they are fighting Syrian rebels.

The high customs you pay in the UK when buying things outside of the EU is the UK government charging you tax. When buying things from the UK you would not subject to those charges, you will be subject to your own countries customs duty.

Also Norway is not in the European Union.

OP: The US dollar is currently quite weak compared to the pound so it's quite possible you could get a better deal by buying from the US. Do look at the customs charges in your country but you will be unlucky they are as high as they are in the UK.

Australians, going through the Australian website portal, get it from the US.

That's very true! So all of Europe's Union members will naturally order from UK now. And Australia get it from US of course. So I guess ordering from Norway is just this freak border case.

Unfortunately in this case (but not in others) Norway is outside of the European Union so customs apply to both UK and US. However, I've always had a lot of help from Battlefoam and they label the shipment with a value of 22£ which is just below the customs limit in Norway. If not I'd be in a world of hurt.

What really shocked me was the shipment which was pretty much equally expensive from UK and US. Sending something to a neighbouring country should be alot cheaper than sending it from one continent to another!

UKs customs are individual to the UK. Other EU countries will have their own customs charges when buying from outside the EU and wont necessarily be anywhere near as expensive.

Not that is matters in this case.

I'm not sure how much you pay but I ordered now some foam for 100£ from Battlefoam at UK. If the customs would catch it they'd put a service fee of about 20£ in addition to adding 25% of the shipments value. So I'd have to pay roughly 45£ in order to get my 100£ package through the customs.

That sounds about as bad as the UK then, it would be similar if I were to buy from the US for example. You may want to get in touch with them and see if they can describe it as a gift when shipping it to help you out.
