If you have a problem with guns, want them banned, or just want to start trouble in general, please take it to another thread. This is for dakkaites to talk guns and not have to argue what the second ammendment means. Thank you.
Sick and tired of all the anti gun threads so figured we could have a positive one where people can just talk guns and relax. Talk about your collection, guns you're looking at buying, weird experiences you've had with jams, whatever.
I recently started getting back into firearms after several years away from them, so my collection is rather modest. All I have is a single shot 4/10 /22. rifle (can swap the barrel out for whichever round you choose) and a polish muaser training rifle that was converted to fire 22.'s.
I'm looking at getting a CV82 and a mosin nagant, since they're both relatively simple, cheap, and easy to maintain, but this gun scare is really putting a damper on that plan. Spent 4 hours last night combing the internet for a CV82 and the cheapest ones I could find were marked up at least 50 bucks over what they used to be. Even the mosin nagants are going up in price, although they aren't as bad as some rifles I've seen.
Does anyone know some good sites to buy military surplus from? AIMSurplus is completely sold out and they had the best deal I could find on a CV 82. I'm about to start calling up the local gunstores, but I highly doubt any gun store is going to have a czech military surplus pistol from the 80's.

Finally, a gun thread in the OT! Our long drought is over at last.
In any event, I suggest you edit your thread title to reflect your intent. The things you don't want here would most certainly be on-topic as it's currently advertised. Perhaps "positive firearms chat" or some such.

What, the DCM one not going anymore?
...Ah wait.
The last gun owner's thread didn't go off topic (or at least not into the whole morality of guns debate thing), so I wouldn't imagine that you'll have that problem. ...I do picture people that say "let's all just talk about our guns and relax" as sitting in some sort of game lodge sucking on pipes and drinking sherry though.

I looked around and couldn't find one that wasn't at least somewhat centered around legal controversy and whatnot, so I started this one. If there is one going that I didn't see, my bad, hopefully the mods will not strike me down too harshly
And the warning at the top doesn't hurt. I wish I didn't have to put it up there but with all the controversy these days I figured it would be better to be safe than sorry.

Remember with a nagant, after you shoot it right handed, shoot it left handed. It will set your shoulder back in its socket.
Also, resist the urge to dig a slut trench to defend the Motherland against the evil Hitlerites. This is disconcerting to the neighbors...

Friend of mine picked a couple up when Cabela's got a huge stash of them last year. I haven't fired it yet, maybe I will this year.
I got a Remington 887 Nitromag this past fall. First time out duck hunting I ran three 3.5" shells through it in a few second spread. The adrenaline was pumping to much for me to notice, but afterwards I realized how much those things kicked. That is a powerful shell.

Seriously, the best, most comfy holster I've ever owned. I barely print even in a t-shirt (carrying a full size 1911) and I literally have taken a nap wearing my holster and pistol.

Good to know. I'm hoping to be able to conceal carry my CZ-82 (whenever I can find one not being outrageously marked up) so any holster links are definitely welcome.
Still looking for good places to buy guns from. Everyone has AT LEAST a 10 day waiting period just to ship.

Now is not the time to be buying if you can possibly avoid it.

If you're into M1 Garands now is still an excellent time to buy from the Civilian Marksmanship Program $650 for a service grade Springfield Armory (the original one) receiver.

Crap if only I had that kind of cash lying around.
I was barely going to be able to afford a nagant or a cz 82.
Don't tell me I can have my dream rifle right now but I'm too poor to get it
