I remember playing this in a dentist's waiting room and having a blast slaughtering anything that came between me and the objective. It looks Japanese.
It is indeed 99 Nights. But seriously. For your own health, physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well bring, just buy Dynasty Warriors 7. 99 Nights will give you heart attacks and an attitude as negative as mine (and really, do we need more people as negative as me running around?)
Like a lot of japanese games they have an interesting approach to... well quite a few things.

Yes. Only like 7 characters to play, only 2 are any good, and there's like 10 levels. It would have been a good game had it come out in like, the Mid-90's, but Dynasty Warriors near identical game play, with 40+ characters, dozens of stages, and frankly, a better story and voice acting (and anyone whose played Dynasty Warriors knows how terrible the voice acting is, so complimenting it is really saying something) kind of makes 99 Nights... Well. That bad.

I've got Dynasty Warriors 3 and boy was the voice acting bad. I remember there was this level (Yellow Turbans I think?) where some magician was casting a spell and it sounded like he had massive constipation. Then rocks started falling on people's heads.

This game...I must play it! Shower me in pain dark lord of pleasure and grief!
Still doesnt hold a candle in the wind against the voice acting in the first Tenchu Stealth assassins. My GOD that was something awful. I still will randomly quote that in as bad an Asian accent as possible
Hmm yes 99 nights, I remember seeing that in stores but never really looked at it

While DW7 imo was the best DW
Go get Warriors Orochi 3!
Over 100 playable characters? Yes please!
Though they "were lazy" and never got english voice actors for it. So everything is japanese voice actors
And heck they have Guest Characters!

LMAO glad I wasn't the only one that did! MY friend and I still have a an exclusive sense of humor when it comes to old PSX games. I honestly never thought I'd hear a reference to Tenchu's bad voice acting again, lol.
Itchi-goya...where have you hidden?! The main guy would say this when the first boss in Tenchu would run and hide. It became a running joke for us whenever we'd be looking for something.
I-FIND-YOU!: Whenever you escaped a guard the guard would say this while shealthing his sword. This was another ongoing joke, much like the one above, when we couldn't find something in particular (it seems we lost stuff a lot).
From King of Fighters: The big slow guy gets in a three point stance and slowly says "reaaaa-dy?" we'd say that anytime, in any fighting game, before we'd execute what usually ended up being a pretty slow or cheap combo.
More recently the Captain Falcon "Falcon Punch!" has made an appearance in our gaming. We say in our worst parody of him "COCK-PANCH" and always aim for the crotch.
My friend was also my Nemesis when it came to fighting games. Rarely could I get one over on him when he was trying. His one weakness is he'd laugh really hard at our stupid inside jokes, but at that point it didn't matter who won.

My favourites are the cultists type who just make random noises as they wandered about. Not even words, just random noises.
And my absolute favourite was the pirate boss who asked (in spanish) Do you wish to be killed? DIE!
He didn't even wait for an answer to his question lol
Its because ordinance is still a word.
However, firing ordinance at someone isn't nearly as threatening as firing ordnance at someone.
Ordinance is a local law, or bill, or other form of legislation.
Ordnance is high caliber explosives.
No 'I' in ordnance.
Don't drown the enemy in legislation, drown them in explosives.
