The Rules say that the Landerspeeder is bought as a part of the "Ravenwing Attack Squadron" but, what special rules does the Landspeeder that is bought as a member of the "Ravenwing Attack Squadron" have.

Does the Landspeeder have the "Ravenwing Attack Squad" rules or the "Ravenwing Support Squads" rules?

Ravenwing Attack Squad, would bbe the most logical choice.

Support Squad, it says in the Attack squad entry that you can one landspeeder from the Support squad with all of the options allowed to them for the listed points cost.

It doesn't quite say that.

It says:

"..., it may include a single Landspeeder chosen from the Ravenwing Support Squadron entry below."

Your a buying it using that RSS entry but does it keep those rules, i.e. Deep Strike or does it get the RAS rule of Scouts? (The other rules have no real effect on a vehicle.)

I would think it gets the Attack Squadron rules since it is part of the Attack Squad. Otherwise it would not have the Ravenwing Combat Squad special rule that explains exactly how the Ravenwing squadron works.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

Hmmm. Thats difficult. If it gets the rules of the RAS (of which it would be part of the FOC selection), then you have a Landspeeder with Scout, which could be interesting. Scouting/Outflanking Landspeeders sounds fun

However, it says that despite being chosen as part of that FOC slot, it acts as a separate unit on the battlefield. It is also chosen from the RSS entry. So maybe it retains the rules of the RSS?

I dont have the experience to call it really, but personally I would bestow upon it the RAS rules as it is chosen as part of a squad in that entry.

Yeah that is exactly what I was thinking. An outflanking/infiltrating 60pt multi-melta speeder can interesting indeed.

Well, in the previous codex, the squad lost outflank for taking a speeder, so there is precedent to have it keep the support squadron USRs.

Not saying that makes this work the same, but it is most likely this way still.

As it refers to another unit entry, you'd have to use the entry it refers to in this case the support squadron.

It's just like buying a dedicated transport that's not a transport. It's a separate unit with it's own unit entry that happens to use the same FOC slot.

I just wish they'd let you take more than one speeder with this option to free up FA slots.

Its different from a transport.

A transport is "taken" as a "DT" whereas in this case the unit "may include" the speeder. So it is a member of the unit then breaks off due to their "Ravenwing Combats Squads" rule.

IDK. I like the idea of a "Scouting" Speeder but not sure that was intended.

I personally don't believe it gets the special rules of the Attack Squad, but for those who do I'm curious, would it also get the Wargear of the Attack Squad by the same token?

I mean obviously not the Heavy Bolter labelled as (Attack Bike Only) but everything else.

Interceptor Drones can disembark at any point during the Sun Shark's move (even though models cannot normally disembark from Zooming Flyers).

I see it as you get 1 RSS speeder per full RAS squad without having to use an additional FA slot.
