i want to start with my ogres, i already have a battalionbox, but i have to know what to do next.

8 mournfang is a lot. Their LD becomes worriesome off by their own. It might be more boring, but exchanging those mournfangs for another ironblaster might suit you. It also synergizes with your leadbelchers who aren't just standing there as most of your points take off running.

i know, but all of my list will be tournament legal. the rules are simpel, no named characters, max 2 of the same special, max 1 of the same rare...

so this is the reason of the mournfang. i could exange them to 7 ogres with fc and fists and with 2* 10 gnoblars

mournfang shouldn't be too isolated as the ogres can pretty much keep up with 12" march plus the 12" for generals leadership/BSB reroll.

And if Mournfang are taking leadership tests they are probably not in much shape to continue fighting anyway, outside of panic tests caused by other units.

Its a nice solid list given that light comp.


I've run 8 mournfang before, its always fun. And can present your opponent with target priority nightmares.

Maneaters with brace of ogre pistols. Love them. 2 str4 AP shots each with BS4, then 5 str5 attacks each plus a str5 stomp (and impact hits if your charging). get lucky on the charge and each maneater has 9 attacks including max impact hits and stomp.

i'm not really a fan of maneaters

6 leadbeltchers with a bellower. And you have exactly enough points left over to add another bull to the ogre unit.

I would suggest dropping the second butcher and running 2 units of bulls in 6's.

Or bulk up the leadbelchers to 4 or 5, and run them with a firebelly to deal with Abombs and like.

Also if you run the Iron guts with full command, you can keep the SM tucked away in the second row pumping out the magic.

I shouldn't worry about moral on the Mournfangs, just keep them away from the sabretusks - indeed keep everything away from the sabretusks...

1 question, is hellheart banned or have you chosen not to take it?

It is not banned, but i wont know where to get the points and what to remove from my SM or butcher...

Or my SM have to remove all and take hellheart an some other stuff, but he isn't going to survive that long at our tournaments.

Well your butcher can't have HA for one, he doesn't have it as an option.

I never put my D-scroll or HH on my SM anyway.

Drop all the butchers gear to take the hellheart.

find the extra points by dropping the Bruisers GW. he's str 5 base so doesn't really need it.

I would also personally straight swap the 4 belchers for a second ironblaster. will bring more to the army. yes belchers can clear chaff, but so can a str 10 grapeshot or simply charge the chaff with a T6, 5W chariot doing D6 str6 impact hits plus 6 attacks.
