I'm working on redoing what I've already written to make it far better as the result of criticism that has been provided in response to some of the gak stuff that I've written.

I'd like to know what the general thought is on the idea I had of totalitarian child raising by the sector in the name of "equality."

Does it seem too Tau-like?

Here's the background that I wrote:

As a discussion grows in length, the probability of a comparison to Matt Ward or Gray Knights approaches one.

A totalitarian child raising by the sector in the name of equality?
Can you explain what that means?

The people are raised by the sector in boarding schools in order to ensure that no one receives arbitrary benefits by being born into a family of officers or nobility. It also is so that no one will suffer from incompetent parenting, and that they will receive the same opportunities as everyone else. The purpose is so that everyone is judged strictly on their own merits, rather than being the son or daughter of an officer, hero, or someone else who his highly respected or influential.

The boarding schools on on each world, and managed on a local level. There are multiple schools per world, same way there is in real life; it's not like everyone is being sent off world to a single school.

It doesn't sound like the Imperium at all. But its doesn't seem particularly Tau like.

Ok. I was going for a sector that's more a part of the Mechanicum, and is way out on the Eastern Fringe where it would be forced to establish a lot of stuff without help. That would also lead to unqueness, which I'm fine with as long as it's not silliness.]

I realize that I basically made a version of the Stardust Empire. The difference being that instead of every race in the galaxy living together, I took every civilization in history and put them together.
