Hey there ,
As the tittle says , i'm starting warhammers again so I wanted to know a few things.
I've lost all my previous models (sold them , threw them out etc...) , so I wanted to know which sets I should get to start up again?
Also I would need some basic paint, so if you guys know any good sets / paints I should get please comment it !
Thanks

Hey, welcome back to the hobby!
Your a little vague... 40k or fantasy? Also, do you have a particular army in mind? If not, i'd suggest browsing the GW site and eyeing up some models.
As for paint, there are so many different paint companies, go with whats most convienient. I use Vallejo Game Colour and Citadel. Depending on your army, you'll need different colours, but generically, a couple of shades of blue, red, green, brown as well as black, white, silver and gold, that should get you started.

Keep in mind everything is more expensive now, so be sure what you want to start before you buy anything. It'd be best to research lore and rules before choosing any army (but please don't choose GK, almost everyone's doing them now. I'm not trying to tell you what to choose, but they're just.. UUGAHSHAG). GW has expanded their range extremely now, so you'll have to just choose a paint scheme after you've chosen your army.Alternatively you can go with another (or maybe better!) company like Reaper, Vallejo, or P3. As a starter set, there isn't really anything you can buy unless you want Chaos/DA for 40K or Skaven/High elves for WHFB.

Thanks for your replies.
I was thinking about 40k. Not entirely sure about the army yet. But I'm looking for one with whom the conversions are easy.

Orks is the way to go then. You can build anything with orks! But you should just pick an army that you really like. Read the Lexicanum or WH40K wiki to learn more about the armies, and if you're truly daring go to 1d4chan for a good laugh and a lot of information. NSFW sometimes though!

Orks or Tyranids or Imperial Guard.
Orks because you can build or convert just about any vehicle.
Tyranids because sculpting new organic bits is easy to make it look good. (Or at least, difficult to look bad...)
IG because there are dozens of human army soldier originals you can adapt and buy easily. You could do a plastic Guard army using Wars of the Roses, Napoleonic, ACW or WW2 plastic figures, let alone SF style. Add in metal and you get even more choices.
