Subject: The Friendly Tyranid

The friendly Tyranid are an off shot of hive fleet Behemoth who were abandoned after developing cognitive difficulties arising from consuming a demon world populated exclusively by anime trope based demons. Friendly Tyranid just want to be friends although they lack the ability to tell everyone. The friendly Tyranid's favourite bestest allies of all time are the Sisters of Battle (for reasons perhaps best left to imagination). Unfortunately the feeling is not mutual and Sisters of Battle invariably attempt to flee/burn/faint when faced with the horror of a smiling Hive Tyrant. The situation is further compounded by the fact that friendly Tyranid look just like regular Tyranid leading to many hilarious and fatal misunderstandings.
Rules for the friendly Tyranid when allied with Sisters of Battle
Tyranid units treat Sisters of Battle as friendly scoring units and can cast friendly psychic powers on them.
Tyranid Independent characters can join Sisters of Battle units at the end of their movement phase
Sisters of battle units treat all Tyranid units as enemy units.
Sisters of battle units must attempt to move directly away from any Tyranid units if within 12 inches at the start of their moment phase. If this would not result in them being outside of 12 inches at the end of their movment phase they must perform a run movement in the subsequent shooting phase.
Sisters of battle units that start within 12 inches of a Tyranid unit containing 1 or more models that features tentacles gain fleet until the beginning of your next turn.

Um...what?
So, Tyranids are friendly to the SoB but the SoB aren't friendly to the Tyranids? How does that work? So if the nids bring SoB allies than they use the Nid ally rules but the SoB can't bring Nids? That's a bit complicated. It should fit into the rest of the allies chart but using two way rules, not two separate things depending on who is who.
Also, why do the Nids see the SoB as friendly scoring units?

I got so lost trying to understand that. Are you suggesting a new Allies chart? Nids don't get allies in case you don't know.

Thanks for the feedback, I have updated the post with more info. This rule probably wouldn't make it into GW canon since I don't think it fits with the existing fluff very well.

It doesn't fit at all. First Nids don't gain cognitive ability, they follow the will of the Shadow in the Warp. Second if they consumed a demon then they'd be tainted to chaos before anything else. Also Nids tend to avoid Chaos worlds as much as possible.
I'm still not understanding what it is you're trying to do. The "Friendly Tyranid" trying to befriend the SoB, sounds more like stalking as the Sisters want nothing to do with them and they keep following them. The whole thing sounds more like a bizarre internet comic plot rather than some kind of allied force.

I got a great chuckle. If presented with this set of rules by a stranger at my FLGS, I would absolutely allow it. 10/10, would read again

I think its a great idea but instead of SoB it should be Eldar and the Doom feels bad for all the destruction he wrought so is trying to go back and apologize. Unfotunately every time he opens his jaws to say he is sorry his psychic shriek comes out and just ends up killing more of his new friends.

Ever told a joke to an audience and waited for everyone to laugh but no one did?
Man I just read this post and realized that no one seemed to get the fact that is was a joke (or I hope it was). Reference to a type of anime commonly featuring monsters... holy cow.
I'm not sure what made me laugh more though, the post itself or the follow up post of "that wouldn't work".
Anyway... lighten up guys, that was at least kinda funny.

The whole time all I could picture was a Frankenstein type scene where he goes up to the little girl picking flowers and accidentally kills her except it's a Carnifex going up to a bunch of sisters and slicing them to pieces every time he tries to hug them. Or a Lictor jumping out to yell "Surprise" for a birthday party and giving everyone a heart attack.
I apologize I didn't realize this was intentionally humorous, I actually know a guy at my FLGS that is often trying to convince the game runners to let his Nids have allies and getting upset when they don't allow it.
