Anyone know of one, specifically one that offers free shipping for spending more than a certain amount (and/or has discount pricing)?

wargamerscave.com offers Battlefoam products at a discount. I picked up some of the pre-cut Dark Eldar foam trays from them a while back and was happy with the service.

Keep in mind that you probably won't be able to order custom foam from retailers.

I don't expect any retailer to pay the postage for a huge package for you.
And I don't expect any retailer to sell you anything but the most standard trays.
Battlefoam is US based BTW.

Yeah but im not paying battlefoams ridiculous prices AND the ridiculous shipping costs they charge (which seem to.be based on the dollar value spent rather than how much it actually costs to ship the product).

Well, noone else will pay that for you.
Battlefoam certainly is expensive, but to be fair, postage is huge for huge volume packages.

That I knew, but from what I could tell they are the smaller sized ones designed for the warmachine bag i stead of the full size trays.

Well, I was right that he only sells the most basic square designs, not the full program (the one that makes Battlefoam special, everyone else also sells square foam trays). Just my expectation was wrong, but that's why I presented it as an expectation. But my speciality is tracking rumours, not the cheapest online discounts

It's actually based on package size and weight. While a package of foam trays is not heavy, it is big, very big. There's no way to fudge the size - it's a perfect rectangular prism. A few trays ends up being a very large package.

If you won't want to pay Battlefoams price for either their product or shipping, simply go with another foam manufaturer like Sabol or KR Multicase.

If I were to pay the price for Battlefoam, I'd go to my local FLGS and ask them to order a bag for me. Mention that you're spending X-hundred dollars and see if they can give you a small discount. That way you can get your bag shipped to your game store, instead of paying for it online and having huge shipping costs.

Not that I've done the math, but I'm guessing that even ordering online at 20% off, the shipping costs are high enough that in the end you might only be saving around 5% off your Battlefoam anyways.

Kroot- he has the full range of trays available.

Loki- I've shipped larger (and heavier though thats not relevant to the point) packages cross country before and not paid that much. Besides that its foam, it compresses....

Grey- been there, tried that. I get a discount at my flgs automatically, but i placed my order back in october and they still havent been able to order it in (i dont know whats happened, theyve been having difficulty getting any new stock.in from their distributors aside from the latest releases).

Fair enough on shipping, I can only speak about shipping packages that large to Australia.

Regarding compressing - Battlefoam foam is semi rigid. Even if you managed to compress it, you'd end up destroying the shapes that are cut into it due to the walls between the shapes tearing. It's not something you ever want to try to compress.

Funny, I can't find any of the Dark Eldar trays on their website:

Their Black Friday sale is what happened, I believe. From what I've heard, customers who ordered stuff back in November are just now getting their bags in. Apparently they had overwhelming amounts of orders which took a really long time to fulfill.
