Hello reader!

I decided to start writing my own blog here, where I will introduce stuff I do. Mostly Imperial Guard and scenery, but there will be some Ork painting eventually. But something little about me:

In 2008 I got into figures and table top game through Lord of the Rings. But, as soon as I got to see Warhammer 40,000 live at one store, it got me. As fast as I could, I ordered battleforce box for Imperial Guard. I ended up with guard slightly over Eldar and Tau Empire. I roughly painted them in cadian colors, played some games --> quit. Hobby wasn't that funny I thought. But last year I got back to it again and decided that I could create my guard again. Why not? So, I ordered two Warzone 80 figures packs! These would be base for my infantry. But, their head didn't make any sense to my Harakoni Warhawks regiment. Pig-Iron Productions had nice system trooper heads, I went with those. Basic look for my army:

Colors were a bit boring so boosted it up a bit with brown, black and red. Here some fellas:

As you can see, I'm not that good painter. My hand keeps shaking when I draw "clear" lines to weapons or shoulder plates. "Blaah, that highlight looks more like splash of a paint on my flak!" said veteran. But I enjoy painting and creating my army and I believe I can get better. While I continue making my infantry squads, I tried to paint something bigger. A chimera sounded nice.

That went a bit better! It has that used look what I wanted. Back to infantry ->

My armylist includes plasmas and meltas. Well, I don't wanna order real ones from GW or start up looking bitz from other hobbyists. So, lets give a try and make one from pile of crap.

On the left, stuff that I used. On the right is the result. It still misses that hose from under the hull, but it's not that bad right? It goes!

I think this is a good way to start a blog, feel free to give comments and suggestions where I could improve(painting.....) and shoot your ideas! I keep updating as often as I can!

Here's one picture about my WIP building. I use name "City Of Harad" about this scenery project. City in the desert type of thingy for my gaming group. Note: this is a WIP.

Looks like it's getting off to a good start! My hands shake when I paint too, so good work.

I'm not sure how well the green highlights work on the guns, it looks a little odd. The helmets are a solid choice and I like the red to break up the otherwise solid tan.

Also, which models did you get from Warzone to use?

Thanks for comment Berserk! I ordered Bauhaus and Militia troops from Prince August. These figures::

You get 80 of those, price ain't bad either just 19,95€ including VAT. Not bad huh?

About gun colors, base color is orkhide shade (old paint I guess) and then highlight made with Goblin Green(old). I do have Knarloc Green too, but after testing it I liked Goblin Green more for highlighting. I wanted guns to stand out from other model, before green guns I got camo guns (dark grey-black-tan) but I changed it.

Also some update. I ordered Cadian Battleforce set to get some bitz and I wanted to make my CCS out of normal cadian. Assembled but not painted.

In front on the right you see my master of ordnance figure. I really like how it turned out! Next to it you see commander and behind four regular veterans. I gave them some backpacks to make them more parachute-looking and I love ranger type of things. ^^

I like the way those turned out too. I'm just using an old Cadian Company Commander model for my Master of Ordnance, because I custom built a guy to be my Captain. I have a few random troopers I don't know what to do with.

Likewise, I enjoy the whole ranger or airborne look. My IG are a mix of Wargames Factory Greatcoat Shock Troopers, and Cadians. The Cadians I'm painting up in an urban camo scheme and giving them a lot of backpacks and such (from a Catachan kit sprue a friend gave me) to likewise give them a look of airborne guys.

Also, I generally don't care for some of the Pig Iron models (with the exception of the Kolony Militia, whom I love), but I really like what you did with those helmets. They look good on the IG.

Helmets are System Trooper heads, I love them and I'm glad I chose those. I did consider Near Future ballistic helmets, as they look so modern gear (mean todays gear). I do have something special coming, a bit different veteran squad. Will see when I get it finished. Today later I will post some update.

Do you have any pictures of your army? I would love to see those!

Promised an update, here it is!

Assembled and started to paint a little special veteran squad. These fellas will roam with Harker, so I thought they needed to stand out from other models. What you guys think?

I love those vests soooo much! I think those will look great when finished! Oh wait, where is the Harker himself? HERE:

Converted him from regular guardsmen. What you guys think?

Hello!

I posted about a week ago my Harker vets along Harker. Now, those veterans are ready and here they are:

I noticed I did bases wayyyy to fast and got some bad mistakes. Will fix those. But what you think, is my painting hopeless or is it improving? I got all 9 vets for that squad ready, but some of them didn't get media time from their boot camp trainings.

Hello again!

Back home from a cruise, so let start posting again. Here's the battle mat me and my friend will use.

It is 100% cotton, other side protected with plastic. Painted it with one brown. I like it.

Later tonight or tomorrow I will post pictures from buildings.

Hey hey!

Being doing those veterans, soon will get a picture from those all as just few models and got 3 vet squads ready! But, I give you something. I got old Storm Troopers and I thought I could paint them to current paint scheme. But, once again, something went wrong while painting face for sergeant so I decided to do something odd...

I think it is badass and childish lol. Not, just a huge Joker fan here.

Reason why I don't use Elysians is not their look, but I really dislike the cost of them lol. But somehow I think they look too thin. I understand they need to be light infantry in order to grav-chute to the battlefield with limited amount of equipment, but still.. I think the cast could be better for them.

I got a little bit of this and that in my army. Warzone figuers, even normal cadians, Pig-Iron torsos for one squad, Pig-Iron heads for everyone etc. But to be honest, this is my first proper army, so the result is quite good in my opinion. I'm happy if I get it finished without rushing things out. In future, I will collect some task force armies, about 500-750 points. Eldar, Space Marines as I love their scouts. Only reason why I will collect those. Got an idea for the paint scheme also. Eldar is a bit of question mark for now, as I don't use brighter colors that much so it will be a challenge.

I'm also positive about starting collecting WHFB side too, starting with Dwarfs. I love dwarfs.

Update once in third week eh? Thought I could share the Heavy Weapon Squad, which I got finished today. Been doing it for a month, step by step. Main focus was on base. How I could make it different, but still playable. Where I place what etc. Well, here they are:

Painting ain't that good, but like it was a surprise.. Maybe in time I may notice that there is some improvement with it.
