I was thinking of creating one, and was curious, is the 15 points worth it, or would it be better spent elsewhere? I think its a cool choice, but how have any of you tau players found them?

Not even close to worth it. It's not a networked markerlight so you pretty much turn your HQ into a really expensive marker drone. And since even with a HWMT you can only fire two weapons you're forced to take a TL weapon and waste the HQ's BS 4/5 if you want to use the markerlight every turn.

In general markerlights are only worth it on Pathfinders and Tetras, and the Pathfinders are questionable.

Couldn't you put a HWMT and a regular multitracker on, because doesn't the rule state that "instead of firing 1 weapon, you can fire 2 weapons" and then instead 1 of those weapons firing two of them can.

Sorry if i'm not thinking straight, i'm sick.

Better off with the X89 for 2+ AS or the X81 for the SMS (or use as a missile pod)

The multitracker says that you can fire two weapons. Adding a HWMT and a normal MT just gives you two repetitions of "you can fire two weapons".
