Straight to the point. Chessex is boring. What hot looking specialized/unique dice places could one check out for something a little different? Also post some pics of the dice you bring to games.

The Dice Collector has a huge collection of dice on his website. He doesn't sell them, but does list the manufacturer (when known). You can then search for them when you find a cool set.
He also has a lot of links here.

So chessex are not only boring, but they're also awful. The dice are cheaply made, and any given die will tend to favor one side or another.
For my relatively bulk dice, I use a couple of sets of kopchow dice.
I also went and bought four, actual, high-quality, properly random dice from Zontik:
Which are not only gorgeous, but, as mentioned, they're produced with super fine tolerances, so actually roll randomly. Nice dice like these (or game science, or casino dice), are expensive, but you don't need very many of them, just enough for those small-numbers events where you want actual randomness, like rolls to continue the game, or to see who goes first.

Those ambers are very attracitve.
I agree that Chessex has really bad random numbers. The smaller dice are even worse for that.

I've never noticed any particular trend towards unfairness with Chessex, but that's just me.
I've seen some pretty sweet dice from Crystal Caste, but they are pricey. Of course, your getting dice carved from semi-precious stones, so you kind of expect to pay a little more. They have d6's by themself, if you scroll down a bit. The metal ones are really annoying, since they are loud as hell and tear up the tabletop.
Personally, I don't have any issue with Chessex. For my Terminators, I had to crib five sets of three d6's out of my D&D dice (so I can keep them separate so all the termies can get their master-crafted re-rolls) but those are the only non-Chessex ones I use. The large numbers of dice I get from them gives me the ability to mix and match for scenarios where I have different weapon types or whatnot.

I use Chessex (4 blocks) and haven't had any bad experiences.
The one thing I take really seriously when buying dice is to make sure that the pips are REALLY easy to read, both for me AND my opponent.
I absolutely hate dice with symbols

My experience with Chessex isn't a bad one. I've just been looking for something different. It just seems like Chessex is a large share of the market.

Aye caramba, I don't think even the '90s had such '90s-style websites.
Thanks for the link, though. I'll have to check out some of their suggestions.

LOL!
Literal guffaws after seeing that website.
All he needs is frames and some sort of a tiled animated gif as the background, and it would be complete.
