Very sharp. The camo paint is contrasted well by the dark lines around armor plates and rivets. The only things I can think of changing is the exhaust pipe openings could be darker and the barrels on the rear may need a different colour.
Fantastic job on the glass and gunner. Great work for a short time.

That's really good. The tiger stripe camouflage works great on this size vehicle.

Nice job for the time spent but I don't know why you would do this. Its a great model and deserves better than rushing it. Its full of lines where you havnt filled the joins and this makes it look rushed and model like. Airbrushing is cool and you can get great results but remember its the detail and the basics thst makes a model look 'real'. Spend the time to join the seams of the model at least and weather it properly and it will look a lot better.

How did you get such a nice effect on washing? Was it a pin-wash over Gloss?

Whatever you did could you give a quick step-by-step because the effect is very nice indeed.

I didn't assemble it. I painted it for a friend for free. There are things that could have been better if they were painted pre-assembly but that was not an option for me. Its not for competition and It will look fine on the table and it beats grey plastic or black primer any day.

I primed black.
Base coat green
Highlight lighter green
2nd highlight with added white
I matte varnished then taped off and added stripes
Matte varnished again then pin washed everything
Painted some details

Thats incredible work for a 5 hour project! Accomplishments like this really give me justification to go buy an airbrush...awesome work...the only thing lacking on the model is some weathering/damage ...I always envision the Banebalde being an ancient machine of war that has seen hundreds of battles

Sorry to be a bore, but what Wash mix did you use? because it has shaded in a lovely even, uniform fashion with no pooling or drips. Thanks in advance.

Thank you, I will weather it up a bit. I noticed a few lenses I missed too. I never had my hands on one of these before.

For the wash I used windsor newton oil paint ivory black.

the green was vallejo model air camo green
the first highlight was vallejo model air interior green
second highlight was interior green with white agged
the tiger stripes were done with vallejo model air sand yellow

I could do better, I am sure I could do worse, I didnt do it to win an award but to play games with painted armies for a friend.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Here is the final product. I spent another hour with the weathering and naming it and a few lenses. It is now a 6 hour Baneblade and I hope you enjoy it.

Thank you for the suggestions!

I Really appreciate the crispness and the weathering, not too over done, but this tank mother looks great!

The weathering really finished it off. Great job this would most likely take me double the time to reach that point. Ever consider speed painting competitions....

6hrs.....From Model primed to painted. Less than 8 hrs at this standard is superb.

Thanks for the Tip..Off to buy some windsor newton oil paint ivory black. £9 is reasonable from Hobby craft and it will last.

Any other tips?

What a great model to actually use on the table, although to me it would easily handle duty as a showcase piece.

Great job, sometimes I forget just how awesome it is to just bust a model out rather than agonizing over the details. You can always go back in and add some more if you need to, which was only another hour! Love it.

Can you give a quick rundown for creating that rust effect?

Psshhh, that took a whole 5 hours? Thats not THAT fast. I bet I could paint a baneblade in like 5 minutes.

*quickly hides the single marine I've been painting for the last 5 hours*

For reals though, I wish I could paint that fast and get something that looked half as good.

For 15 hours, it's good. For 5 hours, it's outstanding. You might have cheated on the time by doing the weathering afterwards, but that's a lovely tank that I'd be proud to put down on the battlefield. The camo is really sharp, and the color choices are lovely.

The weathering was sponged on after. I updated it to 6 hours later in the post after feedback. I use Vallejo rust weathering powder then dry brush with silver. That's it. It did take a total of 6 hours.

Very nicely done...and wow the rivets.

Id like to add a Baneblade to my armor collection. I think if/when I do part of the project will be removing the rivets.
