Title says it all...

Circumstances are Land Raiders for Terminators. Do they still take up a Heavy Support spot?

And if not, would it be logical to run 3 as DTs then 3 as heavy support?

I'm just curious as to weather or not they take up the FOC spot... lol

If they are taken as a dedicated transport, then they do not use up a FoC slot.

Sweet...

Be right back as i place an order for 6 Land Raiders.... O_o

lol I have a friend I am planning to play a 3k 2v2 game each side having 6k total points...

So the plan is to run with Abaddon + 6 groups of 30 cultists
3 groups of 5 termies then 6 land raiders...

If you're playing at 6000 points then you'd have the double FoC, meaning you'd be able to utilise 6 Heavy Support slots anyway.

I don't have the Chaos codex to hand, but if they are indeed classed as dedicated transports for Termies then no, dedicated transports never take up FoC slots. I run 2 with my Black Templar Assault terminator squads, they cost points but not FoC slots!

No. But they count as a kill point seperately than the unit which the carry.

@ Solo indeed! CSM Terminators have access to DT LRs

@ Dok I was under the impression that DTs are not kill points unless the entire unit is destroyed =/

They are a unit, and worth a victory point in the mission where killing a unit gives one. But they don't take up a FoC slot.

That is correct DT's are only kill points if you kill the whole unit, which in the case of a DT is just the vehicle, as the Terminators are one unit and the Land raider is another unit.

If you take a Land Raider as a DT, what consists of the Land Raiders unit? (Remember units have to shoot at the same target and charge at the speed of the slowest model when assaulting, and when embarking the whole unit has to embark on the vehicle).
