Hey guys,
This is the test model for my new space wolf army. I have gone for the darker grey/black since I hate the baby blue colour that GW portrays them as.
What to you guys think. Sorry about the lighting. Only had one light and it was at night. Soz
Thanks.

Looks good, well done. But hard to tell it's Space Wolves. Sure, the pelts are there, but other that doesn't feel wolfy. But hey, it certainly looks good. And you obviously don't want a traditional scheme out of this. Though, thinking now, it does remind a little bit of a dark Pre-Heresy scheme.

Fair enough, I know it might not appeal to all. However, what would you say to make it more 'wolfey'...
Thanks for the response

Looks good. I myself also hate the baby blue GW have chosen, and have gone a grey route as well, but it's much lighter, Adeptus Battlegrey (old colours) base, Badab Black wash, then Fortress Grey drbrush.
Yours looks borderline black though, or is it much more grey in RL?
As to making it look more 'wolfy', I personally think it's good as is. I like how the gold/bronze is much more muted, reminds me of the actual Vikings in times gone by. I think once you have a force of them arrayed in battle, they will unable to be mistaken for anything BUT wolves
Also, how did you do your fur? Looks really good!

Thanks, I did the fur with the new gw paints but you can substitute with the old paint as well I guess
1) Rakarth Flesh basecoat
2) Seraphim Sepia wash the whole thing
3) Agrax Earthshade the top leaving some of the sepia wash behind
4) then do mounfang brown + chaos black (very thinned) on top of the agrax like in the previous step
5) then do a nuln oil (thinned) wash on the very top of in the very recessed areas.
6) Then at the ends re-highlight with rakarth flesh and slowly add some white to make the highlight brighter.
That's it - simple also btw for the first five steps do the washes when the pelt is still wet.
This will give it a blended effect.
Thanks again

Showcase is not for feedback and criticism, but to show finished models -
I think you may find painting and modeling more suited to your needs here, and if I may be bold, I will move you into the painting and modeling blogs section, as it seems you will have a long project ahead of you!
Cheers!

Love it! Its a shade or two darker than what I use for my DA/nilla DIY.
I have always been a fan of any grey alt-scheme for swolves as the powder blue just doesn't do it for me.
Also the red is a really good choice to accompany the greyblack.
MOAR!

I painted another marine (beakies) and tried a little bit of osl. Lets just say it not quite that amazing.
I also have a photo of the gang so far and also my Mark of the Wulfen model. Unfortunately I sprayed a bit too much superglue all over him and I don't know how that will affect the end result.
My first conversion of any sort
Thanks again
