Throw out your theories about these little guys.
Who do you think they really are and why are they helping Dark Angels?

note: if you look at their model closely you can see that their feet are the same as Astartes power armor ones. Can there be some form of miniature power armor that protect these guys from harm on the battlefield while they are rushing to aid Dark Angels?

The universe has many horrors yet to throw at us. This is not the end of our struggle. This is just the beginning of our crusade to save Humanity. Be faithful! Be strong! Be vigilant!

Hmm, I have heard a theory that they're either small xenos (unlikely) or abhumans (more likely, but given the DA's zeal for genetic purity still unlikely) beholden to Johnson and therefore tolerated by the DA, or that they're manifestations of Johnson's subconcscious spying on the DA for him to let him know when he can return.

I've even heard it speculated that they're the force behind Cypher's many miraculous escapes, though no coherent arguments for that one.

I'm a little skeptical on the "part of Jonson" line since they Watchers were on Caliban before the Emperor arrived. The Cypher argument works IF Cypher is still loyal. At the time of Caliban's fall the Lord Cypher had been appointed by Jonson and left to, well do something, but whether he is loyal, renegade, or true Chaos I doubt they'll ever say. If he is loyal (to the Emperor if not the IoM) then the Watchers, who appear to be anti-Chaos, blip in and out to protect him and allow him to continue his 10k year mission. Or not.

My money is on powerfully psychic xenos or maybe, just maybe abhumans descended from the original Calibanite settlers. When Caliban went boom and they were converting the Rock they found a lot of Age of Tech stuff, some of what they don't understand could be what makes/sustains the Watchers.

It's a categorical fact they are warp creatures, listen to the audio book where the sigilite send loken to caliban to see if the dark angels are loyal or not, the watcher in question "shifts" across the room in the exact way that some chaos deamons do, it phases in and out of reality and then simply phases out completely, they are also psykers as this is how they communicate.

The main things we do not know is there connection to the cabal ( if any) and to what extent they reside in the warp.

They are 100% not abhumans, nor psychic manifestations of the dark angels guilt.

I think he's referencing the source http://www.theotherpages.org/poems/johns01.html for the DA.

Though to be fair, if Space Marines have sexuality I would be amazed if they're not incredibly gay in general given their literally Spartan life style.

Since the DA horde lost tech, I always thought the watchers were AI in small non-threatening bodies that the Lion kept for himself. Without him to give new direction, they sort of putter around the rock.

Grots being sneaky-like. And I'm a little suspicious of the Dark Angels too. Why suddenly change their armour from black to green? And why are they so eager to steal all the Fallen? And why all the hoods over their faces? Could there be a waaagh brewing inside the ranks of the adeptus astartes?

I agree with Daemons. Most likely Tzeentchian ones.

The Caliban forests were completely overrun with warp creatures.

They have power armour on. I dont know how they have such tiny sets, or if they simply appear to be wearing the armour. But they are modelled in power armour (you can see it on their feet).

So im wondering if they are in some way linked to the Fallen? Or perhaps to Luther or the Lion?

Maybe they're heresy era Dark Angels. See, 2nd edition space marine models were larger than Rogue Trader ones, and current ones are larger than 2e ones, suggesting that space marines are getting progressively larger. It stands to reason that ten thousand years ago space marines were only three feet tall.

I'm gonna throw a wild assumption out and suggest that they are somehow linked to the Emperor himself.
I dont know how or why, but somehow this idea has been lurking around in my mind for a while and I kinda like it.

I find it odd that such a xenophobic order tolerates any non-human entity of any kind. Next thing you know the purest of the pure will have orange alien monkeys that...oh...never mind.

I think they are Jawas - the robes and size matches. Coincidence? Not after GW releases a new DA/Jawa transport sometime next year!!

I imagine that they are something like warp entities that were tolerated by the lion, and therefore the new Dark Angels have no choice but listen to their "Father". Though the do have the mentality of jawas, and the appearance of a humanoid, and it's a known fact that the forest of Caliban were full of wrap entities. Which leads me to deduct one thing, and one thing only... THEY ARE JAWA JEDIS THAT HAVE COME BACK LIKE YODA! Nah I'm just screwing with you, in a reality they're probably warp entities that however impossible it may seem are accepted and tolerated by the Dark Angels

Lately I've been thinking they're a lot like the Citadel Keepers from Mass Effect. Always bustling around performing their own business wordlessly then vanishing again, and unimpeded by anyone... one of these days they're gonna turn the Rock into a giant deathtrap, just you wait and see.

The DA seem to have little issue with them, they were probably native abhumans on Caliban used as serfs by The Order.
