Subject: Baleflamer - Can anything but a Heldrake use them?

I just fought against a Khorne CSM army and the player had his Chaos Lord armed with a Baleflamer. For the life of me, I can't find where it says you can arm his with one. Please explain.

Are you sure it wasn't the Brand of Skalathrax? The Baleflamer is drake exclusive but there is an Artifact that a Lord could take that is an S4 AP3 torrent flamer.

The above mentioned item is what he had. It basically has similar stats to the Baleflamer.

This. He likely just called it a Baleflamer since the stats are identical and it's a "household name" by now

Stats are not identical. The Burning brand is Strength 4, while the Baleflamer is strength 6.

Baleflamer is STR6, Burning Brand is STR4. Do NOT mix these up!
Noise Marines can also pick up Doom Sirens which are templates with STR5 AP3, but they don't have torrent.

You could make an Emplaced Weapon for your Terrain collection that could be a Baleflamer.

Not to mention, the Burning Brand is a unique weapon as well - one per army. So do make sure he hasn't got it on more than one model. Sounds like it's a genuine mistake, though.
