so... I decided to say "feth it" and explore the spawn area at a surprisingly good framerate of ten fps... but apparently I lagged out and now I'm stuck in a dark area and I have no clue where the hell I am, except that there's no lights and apparently nothing at all?

Hey Dark, Img5016 was afk in his base just now and something exploded/caught on fire, destroying some machines and killing him (he heard it- he was alt-tabbed and tried putting the fire out).

He's mostly just curious what exactly happened. It managed to blow up his Blast Furnace, stuff caught on fire, all sorts of odd stuff, though if it was a random bug-glitch, he wouldnt' mind getting his inventory reset.

(for some reason he doesn't like posting on forums, so I'm typing this up for him).

Melissa, what Anti-virus are you using, and there is a problem sometimes with the trees in the forests. Just watch out for it!

It was inside of the spawn room with the various machines and the weird thing on the wall.

That road sounds easy, you don't need frames, just a dedicated team doing it. I did my highway to my second base by myself. 5 wide highway with a glass frame.

I don't blame you- Frostoman's banning was his own fault; anyone who cheats in 128 Silverwoods is asking for it. He was misinformed, but it is still his fault. As Avatar has pointed out, I CANNOT CREATE FLUX. Nor can I use Vis in any way.

Docadeth, it has to be a clear cut through the mountain, and the cove and surrounding land is quite mountainous. Buy I guess a team with thaumic-repair shovels could do it,
And anvil, maybe this could be a time to test out tge shovel of the earthmover, your lord of earth after all

LOL, My tekkit path cut through about 4 large mountains. The only problem with it comes with caverns and overhangs because of dropping creepahs.

If the lag was incredibad, you might have fallen through the world, either into a cave below, or into the void and the lag just isn't updating your position correctly.

GregTech machines explode if they catch fire. Img died from burning to death (and said "my house is on fire"). The main question is how did the fire start (I can't find out till later this evening). If he had a lava source or recently made a fireplace in his home, that would be one explanation. Lightning would be another, but he seems to have quite the tree canopy there which appears completely unharmed.

It was also deep in the cave's he's dug out, so probably not lightning.

I know he had lava in liquiducts, but I don't think he had any open sources- I'll have to check with him.


And as for digging through mountains- it's really just something you need more than one person for- and it looks and feels better doing it by hand. It's just earthmoving, is all. I suppose you haven't been on the Vanilla server much, have you- there's all sorts of incredible mining, tunneling and digging projects that've been done there with nothing more than time and picks.

Yeah, my project took about a month with nothing more than about an hour a day or so.

My Vanilla server task though is still ongoing.....taking down an ENTIRE MOUNTAINSIDE......I am actually building a castle on top, its going to be insane.

But the last one has to be the most insane. Someone built most of middle earth, including the Argonoths....BY HAND.

Either my CPU is giving up the ghost (better not be! ) or else the flux storms have reduced the overworld into a 1fps lag fest for anyone without a fancy CPU. Im going to try optifine but im dubious its going to help much.

I'll occassionally get total black when I login, restarting minecraft fixes this, but any login/out does not.

I'm playing on a gakky macbook and I'm getting on average 15 fps, best I've gotten is 28 fps

Dunno about flux storms, but as long as I'm not in a machine room I usually get around 30 fps on the overworld, using an aging 2.67 ghz dual core that's about seven years old.

My CPU in my laptop is Quad but its useless at single threaded operations. I have either the choice of 1.6Ghz per core or 2.1Ghz turbo boost on one. A new pc is currently being saved up for
