Hey guys/gals,
Well I have been playing the Dreamer, my 1st ever master, for a while now, and am fed up of people saying I play a broken crew, even with the errata rules. So I am setting my sights on a different master. I will still be sticking with Neverborn. I have played a mobile crew that can hit like a frape train and that has won me all my matches so far. Now I am looking for a master who can deny and make you suffer for trying to hurt me haha. So with all of this it looks as though Pandora is exactly my kind of thing.
So whats the reason for this thread you ask. Well I was just wondering if I could get some general advice on how to use her. I have read the pullmyfinger article for Pandora, but wondered if anyone could expand on that or give me some combos or tricks that worked especially well with them. Lastly could I get your opinion of the dreamer crew after the errata? Is it really that bad or is it people just don't know how to handle it. I had played against the dreamer crew with a standard lilith growth crew (me and a mate swapped our crews for a change of pace) and I had beaten him (and he knew how to play the crew fairly well). So I am led to believe the latter. Is it just people at my local gaming club or does everyone feel this way?

Its just whiney mortals who don't like your dreamer crew! You should punish them!
I have no experience of playing with or against the dreamer but it certainly seems competitive. I'd actually saver the challenge.
My usual master is Mcmourning and my usual opponents really worry about him getting close as once he strikes theres usually not much that survives! However, like so many things in malifaux, as soon as they learn that he's actually rather fragile and a well timed alpha strike will see him running or dead I'm gonna be in for a fight! (Although I have just finished painting his Avatar so at least I have a fresh surprise for them! )
Maybe your opponents are focusing too much on killing the dreamer and not enough on there on strategies/schemes?
As for Lilith I have often looked at her as well but until I've finish my ressers off that will remain on the back burner. But she does look very mobile and melee focused, much like McM i suppose.
I'm glad you stayed with Neverborn cause having the option to choose your master based on the strategy is a huge bonus from the off. Plus you can keep your opponents guessing which they'll be facing!

Don't mind the haters, yes a Dreamer crew can be powerful in the right hands, and yes the LCB slingshot got a little messed up because of the errata, but at the same time, nothing about him is really all that powerful. He's got a subpar defense and Wp, 10 wounds, and an average CB on his claws and teeth. What makes him a pain to deal with is his ability to go away with All Done, or a Daydream's Calm Nightmares. If you want to stick with Neverborn, you're going to get flak for having an OP master, no matter who you pick. It's just the nature of the beast. Neverborn tend to be really fast, and hit like glass cannons. They also tend to break some of the rules (Like Pandora using Pacify more than once per turn). I would suggest picking up Collodi and running him as the master (instead of running him and his crew in a Zoraida crew), because while Collodi is a decent henchman, he needs Zoraida to really become terrifying. Jakob Lynch is also slightly middle of the road, but he gets 2 red jokers in his deck, and always cheats last (even if he's losing). If you want a challenge, don't start with the Hungering Darkness on the board, as it gives you the challenge of having to get a pair in your hand and having something with brilliance die on the board.
Stick with it though I played LCB in a tournament yesterday and had no issues getting my butt handed to me lol.

Hey guys cheers for the encouraging words. It did get to me that people called my crew to overpowered and that playing a crew shows no such skill, hence my thoughts on changing crews. Yes I was never going to completely change faction just master as it is much more viable for strategies and schemes. People seem to think that because I play him how he is suggested to be played that it is automatically broken. I do agree it is hard to beat him if the right person is playing him, but to call him broken is going a bit far lol. Just wanted some opinions on it is all, once again cheers for that
As for the master well I got all 3 off a mate haha (bar Collidi and Jacob). He was getting rid of it so I just took it. Had my 1st game with Lilith against the dreamer as I said before the other day and won it, but for me her play style was a little simple and easy to see through. So I have decided that it would be between Pandora and Zoraida. At the moment I think Pandora suits me quite well, especially as I have a few minions that go well with her already (eg Coppelius, Stitched, Lelu & Lilitu and TEDDY). If she doesn't suit me then I will give Zoraida a try.
So far my list looks like this for Pandora:
Pandora
Candy - 8ss
Coppelius - 9ss
Doppleganger - 8ss
Sorrow - 3ss
Sorrow - 3ss
Sorrow - 3ss
This leaves me with 6ss. Does anyone have any thoughts/improvements about this list?
Cheers for the feedback, I appreciate it.

Pandora is a real good crew. There are a lot of missions she has no problem with. Just be careful when you run up against an Ortega crew. High wp plus stubborn.

Does anyone have any thoughts/improvements about this list? Cheers for the feedback, I appreciate it. Lillith has 2 types of lists, a grow list, where you use models like Young or Terror Tot Nephlim to get big beefy Mature Nephilim. Generally throw in a black blood shaman for good measure, and go from there. The other one is taking elite nephilim and alpha striking the frack out of your opponent. For Pandora, I would drop Coppellius and 1 Sorrow. In it's place, I would pick up 2 stitched together (5ss each), and the Primordial Magic Totem (2ss). You'll have 6ss for your starting cache, have 7 cards in your hand (as long as the Primordial Magic is alive), and the Stitched bring to fantastic abilities to the table, their 0 action Gambler, where you discard a card and force the target within 6inches to make an Opposed Wp Duel (Wp -> Wp) against the Stitched, if the stitched wins, you draw 2 cards and your opponent discards 1. Then the BEST ability for the stitched is that they have Gamble Your Life. It's a 1 action that forces the target to make an Opposed Wp Duel against the Stitched. The loser takes a 3/4/7 damage flip. So if you have Pandora within a foot of the Stitched's target, and they lose that duel, they take 3 wounds at least from Gamble Your Life, and 1 wound from Emotional Trauma (enemy models within 12 inches take a wd when they lose a Wp duel). Also, if you're looking for a lure model (I think Candy has Lure), I would suggest a Beckoner instead, as they're 5ss, and do some great things with Lure, even in non Lynch crews). Though after a tournament I ran Yesterday, I'm looking at something along these lines to try out: Neverborn Crew - 35 - Scrap Pandora -- 7 Pool Primordial Magic [2ss] Beckoner [5ss] Beckoner [5ss] Sorrow [3ss] Stitched Together [5ss] Stitched Together [5ss] Sue [8ss] It would be the first time I've ever used a merc outside of an outcasts list, but Sue gives +2 Wp to friendly models... nothing says good morning like Wp 8 Stitched and Wp 9 Pandy

That looks like a really interesting list, let me know your findings
