Spawn of Chaos
|
Alright i revised the list after playing a practise match against dark elves...
Chaos Sorceror of Tzeentch, lvl 4, disc, third eye, 4++, enchanted shield, dispel scroll (total 400)
Exalted Hero of Tzeentch, BSB, Disc, 5++, charmed shield, warrior bane (total 220)
Chaos Sorceror of Tzeentch, Skull of Katam (total 140) (goes with warriors)
11x Chaos Warriors: MoT, Banner, Shields 197 points
10x Chaos Warrs: MoK/MoN,Flag,Halberds, 205 points
gleaming Pennant
Chariot of Chaos, MoK 120 points
Chaos Warhounds: Vanguard 40 points
Chaos Warhounds: Vanguard 40 points
Chimara: Flaming Breath, Regeneration 275 points
Chimara: Flaming Breath, Regeneration 275 points
3x Skullcrushers, EW, Standard 244 points
3x Skullcrushers, EW, Standard 244 points
2400 total
Things i changed: Lost the daemon prince of nurgle, because even though he does kick bottom in combat and lore of death is good, he drops so fast when focused - and i just cannot rest easy in a tournament with my 500 point general on a 1+/5++, whereas the lore of Tzeentch maybe is abit less good with spell effects, i do find the casting proces and lore attribute a hundred times better - plus the casting values for LoT are just amazing.
Also added a 'skullcaddy' - played some practise games against dark elves and their damned sacrificial dagger, i really need this fella to keep up with the pure destructive power and power dice generation of that combination.
Let me know what you think!

Not sure you need all that Tzeentch magic. Also I don't see the warrior units doing much more than giving up free victory. I also only like chariots in pairs.

Kinda lacking in bodies on the field aren't you?
What happens when you fail to break steadfast and get tarpitted or someone brings lots of warmachines?

The problem with the 'vote with your dollar' response is that it doesn't take into account why we're not buying the product. I want to enjoy 40k enough to buy back in. It was my introduction to traditional games, and there was a time when I enjoyed it very much. I want to buy 40k, but Gamesworkshop is doing their very best to push me away, and simply not buying their product won't tell them that. |

I don't think Sorcerers can use Shields anymore.

How did you find the Chimeras?
I played against 1 at a tourney on the weekend with my orcs.
It charged a horde of 40 extra hand weapons savage orcs and despite attacks, breath attack and his regeneration I won combat by 1 and with his base Ld of 5, off he flew, to be run down by my unit.
The very low Ld makes an at first glance very appealing flanking unit very fragile against anything with ranks/flank or rear charges

Spawn of Chaos

I recently discovered that the tournament i am going to play has some *restrictions* in the form of unit choices..
Max 3 duplicates of any unit in core
Max 2 duplicates of any unit in rare
and max 1 unit of any rare choice (e.g. not 2 the same)
Think i will just keep 1 skullcrusher unit of 3 (abit reluctant to bump it up to four because then i have to pay another 46 euro for 1 model.. )
@ Waagh_gonads:
i used 2 chimera's in a practise match against dark elves+lizardmen (weird combo i know)
1 of the chimera's i put in a stupid position, it did kill alot of skinks with his fire breath but after that got charged by a saurus hero on cold-one with flaming attacks, that was over fast
the other chimera went with my Tzeentch lvl 4 on disc and did alot better. In the first round he screened my tzeentch lord so he could cast everything without getting charged by his stupid pegasus hero with pendant of omgwtfbbq ward save
Also in that first round he fried about 10 dark elf spearmen. After that the pegasus hero charged him and stayed in combat with him surviving for 2 rounds until my chaos warriors caught up and together they eventually wooped the pegasus hero's ass
So about chimeras:
- Keep them close to your general
- Keep them away from flaming attacks
As long as you do both of those, they're very good 'escorts' for your sorceror lord of DP

Wow they are only Ld 5, my banshees will be happy to hear that

I feel Chaos warriors are the most attractive target for warmachines, archers and big nasty magic spells - therefore atleast against shooting they have mark of Tzeentch and the blasted banner.
