Which renegade warband or legion has the best overall terminators.

I'm about to start painting my 20 or so models and i couldn't decide black legion because of Abaddon and everything he has accomplished and i know he rolls with terminators all the time, but something about world eater terminators are just terrifying . I know that the night lord terminators get a lot of good mention in subtle ways in the night lord trilogy, and Huron black hearts terminators seem very bad ass as well, but i was hoping there was a definitive answer.

The two main parts of my army are world eaters led by Kharn, emperors children led by Lucius, so i thought the terminators led by Abaddon would be fitting.

What say you?

"It must be magnificent to see a planet writhe and scream to feel it compulse beneath your own feet, witness it dying with living eyes such marvelous spectacle, the skulls are my gift, in time perhaps i will share this gift with every living soul in the galaxy."

I would say Terminators led by Honsoue from the Iron Warriors (its easy to make a count as for him in game as well Chaos Lord MoK Aura Plasma Pistol and Axe of Blind Fury)

Abaddon accomplished something! When did this happen!?

The Death Guard were well known for favoring terminator armor, and having a large number of termi troops in their armies pre-heresy. They prized resilience and toughness so it makes sense they'd want they most dead 'ard armor they could find. If you want to keep it fluffy and give them a character to lead them (which it sounds like you do) Typhus is pretty badass as well. Game-wise he make plague marines troops, which is cool, and MoN terminators with T5 are damned hard to kill.

Abaddon would also be fluffy and he is as mean a CC beatstick as there is, so you could tool out your terminators for CC destruction and throw that unit at basically anything.

Edit:
A source with fluff supporting that the Death Guard really liked their terminators: http://warhammer40k.wikia.com/wiki/Death_Guard

Word Bearers have an entire regiment of terminators called the "Anointed Ones"

Additionally, the Host possessed an Icon Bearer and an elite unit of over two hundred Terminators known as the Anointed

Hmm the word bears are really growing on me, the anointed sound very cool. Thanks for the tips, still undecided :(

Just because his crusades end with them retreating back to the warp, doesn't mean he hasn't accomplished anything. His Black Crusades have had purposes, and they've accomplished those purposes (eg, obtaining Drachneyan, obtaining the Blackstone Fortresses, etc). The 13th was the first where he really tried to break out of the warp en masse to make it to Terra, and he's even had a measure of success there, making planetfall on Cadia and destroying other worlds.

I'm not sure that an army of two halves, led by The Betrayer and a great Champion of the army that led him to that Betrayal, is the most fluffy combination you could come up with...

I liked the sound of an Iron Warriors Temrinator contingent, being that temrinator Armour was originally used for cramped corridors and clsoe quarter combat if I remember correctly. Iron Warrior Termies would be the first through the breached walls!

Not sure that you would need to claim your lord was a particular guy from a book when you could simply have him be your own mighty Iron Warrior lord, but to each his own...

My point about using Honsou is that every other war smith is either dead or has been ascended to daemon hood. Im planning a Iron Warriors army however I would use Honsou to lead my army as out of the War smiths he seems to be the only one who actually has accomplished anything post heresy (I mean come on he gave the ultramarines loads of trouble he led a entire iron warriors force into the Ultramar sector and he said f you to abbadon why wouldnt you want this guy in your army).

The one thing I'm finding boring about 6th Ed so far is the preponderance of special characters. I know this isn't one, but its the same problem. People seem to have lost the knack of creating their own characters and backstory. Why not use Honsou? Because I want the army to be something I have created, drawing from the rich background of the setting I choose to game in. Since when did Chaos get so rigid? Just make a new warsmith!

You guys are exactly right but making a new lord seems pointless if that models stats are not as good as an actually HQ you can buy.

To be honest when i found out they were releasing this new chaos codex i was so excited, i mean i figured that since there was a trilogy about the Night lords and now a trilogy about Iron warriors and Word bearers there would be a HQ choice for every legion Oh and WHY THE HELL CAN MY LANDRAIDER ONLY HOLD 10 MODELS WHEN THEY NORMALLY HOLD 12??!! that was the dumbest thing imo. a Nerfed landraider for chaos, and only one type. Oh and lets not have them take drop pods either because the jump to the planets from outer space....like !@#$ off..

So choose Honsou as your HQ, but instead name him Captain Thunderpants, the Many-Pantalooned. Or something.

It is best to be a pessimist. You are usually right and, when you're wrong, you're pleasantly surprised.

He has accomplished the impressive feat of not being turned into a Chaos spawn despite being a miserable armless failure, that has to be worth something right?

The Death Guard terminators from FW are expensive, but they look really badass.
