With the new rules in hand I thought up this hard to kill list immediately. Have the tacs ride ravens and just walk up to the enemy with MC-TH termies.

Very lolzy. It looks like a blast to play, but I wouldn't put your Tacs in the Ravens. What happens if they go boom? All your troop choices would be gone. 20 Hammernators backed by all those flyers is pretty scary stuff though.

May the WAAC and pretzels be with you.

Looks fun.

You are just going to be eating fire for the first turn or two. TH/SS terminators are the units to take it, but you are ceding the table to your opponent to do whatever he wants, with no pressure, for the early game.

Giving your opponent free reign rarely leads to good things.

I doubt you will get tabled before the air force arrives, but it could get ugly. I honestly have no idea how well this would work on the battlefield, but it looks like a blast to try.

I can see a bike army (or anything fast really) giving you a hard time. But otherwise it seems like a lot of fun. Definitely take out the AA first!

Yeah, it was a list made as the simple idea of annoying the enemy with having to kill the birds. The only things that might actually be off-put by this idea would probably be tyranids or wolves. Most definitely not my best competitive idea

This army probably can do good in the right hands, but also could fail worse than most armies in the wrong hands. If you are ever racing a Tau army, just walk away. If that Tau player knows what he is doing, your army will die fairly quickly. Sames goes will IG, Eldar, and Dark Eldar

1: You focus too much on the fancy toys of the Imperium, and forget that the majority of games are territory based. If you lose your tac squads, and he has even 1 trooper left on the field, well... You lose. You should probably half-man a terminator squad so you can field a third tactical or even two half-manned well armed scout squads.

2: Slow melee Terminators need to be deep struck close where they can do damage, and that requires a locater beacon. Failing that, most battlefields would cause them to deep-strike mishap (Unless you are a lucky bastard, don't test your luck), so you would be forced to run them across the field. Even though the power weapons were nerfed in 6th addition, that does not mean that plasma, demolisher cannons, Medusas, melta, psychic OP death powers that every freaking race (except tau) always have. If you are gonna go hammer time, I would recommend focusing on making other targets seem more dangerous to ground forces, or at least get a drop pod and make their engagement distance six inches or less.

3: Your storm talons are all wrong. Even if you were planning on using them for air combat, that would be all they are good for. Those skyhammers are ineffective. All they are are auto-cannons with an additional shot. Even those Hydras have a better chance at killing things in the sky, and they have one additional shot, are twin-linked, and are 50 points cheaper. If you are going to field storm tallons always use the whirlwind missile launchers. Yes that makes them 155 each, but they are more versatile and more damage effective to armor and ground forces.

4: If you are gonna field storm ravens with multi-melta, then is there really a reason for two additional stormtallons? I mean it is a nice idea getting four air units in the field, but facing Eldar, or IG those birds will bet shot down with such ease. Also if you are mounting units in the storm raven, then maybe something to pepper the enemy forces outside would be more efficient? Maybe some flamers, or hurricane bolters? At least then your troops can get out and deal with the least amount of troop and focus their AT skills on actual tanks and not mostly manned infantry squads.

5: You do not need that much melta in a tac squad. Multi-melta I understand. Kudos to you man. But you do not need a multi-melta and a melta. perhaps save some points and swap the melta gun to a flamer. That would probably be more effective towards tyrandis, orks, demons, and other heavy infantry based armies.

In the end, your army is too anti-tank and your only good melee is miles behind everything else. Think of something that you can do to become more territory taking, and also more dangerous to infantry based armies.

List was meant for the goofy idea of it, not to actually be competitive. I tend to play pedro-based gunline if I want a chance to actually win

Your skyhammers are too much.

For the excact price of one, you can field 1 five man squad of scouts together with a land speeder storm as their transport. Would give you an extra troop unit, as well as some extra mobility "on the ground", and make you less vulnerable to aa.

I am surprised people keep responding with attempted intellectual comments. Check the 'death from the skies' book.125 for talon with skyhammer.. The mere fact that you would suggest scouts in a storm make me think that you suck at 40k or play exclusively against opponents that suck.

Once again I reiterate. This is not a real list that I do, or will ever run competitively. I seek no advice on this joke of a list.

1: land speeder storm are very effective tactically. The fact that they deny deep striking units to effectively drop 6" from them is a pain for armies such as demons.

2: The last time I checked, a 3 shot auto cannon on a vehicle that flies 36" in one turn and can still fire, and only other weapon is a 24" ranged twin Gatling gun, is not a good idea. But good luck bro.

3: If you post something on a forum where people will evaluate and heavily examine what is posted, and think that people will just not? It does not work that way man. You post something, from that point on it is no longer yours to decide how it goes. That is the way of the internet.

What a strange little man OP is.

I agree with Britanica Maximus, why do you post an army list that you dont want comments on? Even worse, you say people 'suck' when they comment.

Land Speeder Storm would give you another troop on the table, it was an example because it costs as much as the skyhammers. Bet you never used one.

In all fairness, the list isn't horrible as that is alot of terminators to kill. The problems are this:

1) anyone with speed is just going to fire and manuver on you(heres to hoping they dont have AP2 templates)

2)If most of your antitank is in reserve what are you going to do about the other guys armour? allof your twinlinked goodness is effectively out of commission half of the game.

3) Don' t underestimate the storm.

Since when are daemons competitive to begin with? My local competitive meta is about 80% marines with solid amounts of long range shooting that kills anything but terminators. Yes, tripplegrim does indeed suck at this game and does more than likely fight opponents that suck. All the xenos he must roll have gone to his head.

You have obviously never fought a good slaanesh/tzeentch chaos demon army. I once fought one. 3k Demon VS 1K Vanilla (me) and 2k Gay knights. First turn. Demons deepstrike slaanesh demonetts and tzeentch flamers. Flamers cook two of my tac squads (with AP 3 WTF!!!) and the demonetts force half of the Gray Knights support to run for the board like sissies. Second turn, I kill everything on my side of the table, and my partner seems to have gained the upper hand with his demolishers that are destroyed on the same turn by a soul grinder that just popped out of freaking no where. Turn three, the most expensive Gray Knight model (was around 300 pts and made all allies around him OP against those with invul saves.) gets raped by a demon prince of tzeench. How? Well... He turned the chapter master, or whatever the hell the guy was, into a chaos spawn of some sort. Turn four... Space marines were tabled except for one command squad apothecary (my guy...) who was left to tell the tale.

So if you want to say that demons are pathetic. look again. They are just not very common. But if you ever find one. please tell them what you said here. I would love to see how he reacts.

oh and and another thing Conum. I have to say your flaming and trolling is quite poor. Next time you wish me to rage, please make more sense. "All the xenos he must roll have gone to his head", makes little sense.

In the end Conum. You might as well, put your tail between your legs, and walk away.

I got you to act like a dick to me, a complete stranger, and I laughed about it. I would say that means I did just fine considering.

Just re-read your last message. Why do you call them 'Gay Knights'?

maybe because they are. I mean come on. Fighting side by side with the babes of battle, and not a single boner for them? They kill of hot chicks like they are a damnation, but heavens to Betsy if they ever lay a finger on the Inquisitors "Special Monkey".

Where in the fluff does it mention marines of any type getting or not getting boners? I've read a few of the books but clearly not as thoroughly as others. Also, why would it be considered gay to not get a boner while in combat?

Dude, that comment just made my day

The list isn't nearly as bad as people are saying it is. I'd swap the Stormtalons out for more scoring presence (SW allies for some Grey hunters and Psy defense isn't a bad idea). The THSS would also be better as Tactical terms IMO, since you get some dakka as well as reasonable CC prowess, but then you don't need Vulcan any more.

BTW, based on the comments some of the haters are throwing out, I really wouldn't put too much stock in their opinions

"Dire Avengers are even great in close combat, I mean, an Exarch with a Diresword can even take down a Carnifex!!"

EUROCHEESE - You can smell it.

Don't worry about it we were just being dicks for the fun of it. I don't really see much merit in legitimately running flyer spam. Too much dickery even for me lol.
