With the new book around the corner, I figured I'd ask Dakka: what would YOU do to make a Daemon army usable in both systems? The war of the ring bases are fairly useful for infantry (nearly the right size and you can paint lines based on the 25mm squares and cut if need be) but for the bigger models, the beast of Nurgle, Chariots, and Daemon Princes, what would y'all recommend? I imagine Magnetizing is in there, but in that case how would you go about it? I'd really like some advice, and maybe some alternative ideas!

Magnetizing would probably be the best bet. Glue some metal things under the base and glue a magnet to the model. Or glue some metal things under the model and glue a magnet to the under side of the base.

Depends on who you are playing with - our club does not care if you used square bases in 40k.

If it were me, I'd just use square bases in 40k, and casually explain that you use the models for both systems, and the base size does not differ between the systems, only the shape.

I wish GW would just come out and say, with the new release, that daemon's were officially permitted to use square bases for 40k.

Technically the rules state that you must use the bases provided (you're using the bases provided!)

Many 40k things in the past were supplied with square bases anyways

Actually, since 6th edition landed, the rules state that you should use bases that are appropriate based on other models.

Which would mean round bases.

I would magnetise larger models, and use round bases for the infantry - as they fit into movement trays perfectly.

I am currently taking commissions.
