Little fluff question for you guys. I'm no history buff, but the Song of Roland is a particular interest to me. So I was a little surprised to see Roland as an exemplar in the Axony army. I know that there is supposed to be an air of mystery around the Brushfire incarnation of Roland, but why is a Frankish commander under Charlemagne part of Axony instead of the more natural Aquitar or Vandalands?

The Experts as a group are based upon The league of extraordinary gentleman. As a super hero group based on British literary heroes, Roland is based upon Virgina woolfs' Roland the Immortal. Who, In turn is based upon the Paladin of the same name. It is a two-fold reference.

Side note: It always makes me feel great when someone gets the root reference of a character in Brushfire.

Thanks so much for the quick reply! For the Experts, I had gotten the Sherlock Holmes and Jack the Ripper references (I hope?), but never made the connection to the LoEG, not being familiar with their comics. After doing some quick research, I'm glad you guys decided to go with the paladin version of Roland and not the League/Woolf version. Certainly makes choosing my army harder on me.

The others are Bram Stoker/Van Helsing, and Sean Bean/Richard Sharpe.
