Just finished my IG ally detatchement. Well the grunts atleast. Still need to paint a vendetta for them.

Models took me around 12h all to paint and another three hours to base, not counting the time that stuff like wash or glue needed to dry. Was fun, will not do it again really soon though

You can read my speedpainting tutorial from here: http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/509216.page

These are good! Considering the amount of time you spent painting them. Wish my minis looked that good after 12 hours of painting!

Just follow the steps i used in my tutorial and you get 40 guardsmen done on this standard really fast My test model took like 20min to complete. Ofcourse when painting 10+ models at once the process speeds up a lot

This is, emphatically, why I will continue suggesting nuking Guard and starting over again. It's a legacy army that needs to be rebooted with a new focal point.

Confirmation of why no-one should listen to Kanluwen when it comes to the IG - he doesn't want the IG, he want's Kan's New Model Army...

the heavy weapon teams are all magnetized to the bigger bases. They work as wound counters, or regular guardsmen if i don't buy the autocannon for them

Just finished the last model for my IG ally detatchement for now. The Vendetta took me a couple of evenings to get done and based. I tried to do a dirty worn out look on it to match my dirty guardsmen, who have not had a supply of fresh uniforms or a bath for some time. I think the Vendetta came out quite well. I usually don't do much extra work on the base, but as the flyer base is so big, i made some debris on it to make it a bit more interesting. Also added some bigger gravel to it to give it more texture.

Oh wow, the slight weathering look and battle-damage looks so good on that! Well done! ^_^

I love the color, and weathering. It's all so fabulous!

I hate it when people call my models "action figures."

Great job. My only criticism is that the bases, from above, look very 'spotty'. The application of your static grass is too regular to look natural

These guys would look good on more urban bases. But the model themselves look proper good. Very crisp and clean.

I used Flames of War Italian armor spray for the base color on the vendetta.

This.
