Hi everyone,

I'm both getting back into GW games and a recent arrival in the LA area. Right now I'm in Gardena, and I'm definitely interested in meeting other players.

I am a big fan of specialist games (especially BFG and Bloodbowl), but I enjoy 40k and I've been wanting to get into Warhammer.

Thanks for reading!

Hello there,

Welcome back to the hobby and to LA, I actually live close to you in Long Beach. Do you mean the classic? I might be interested in starting a Warhammer army too, been a fan of Tomb Kings for a while now. I also started a Dystopian Wars navy last month.

I also just got into fantasy from a friend

Also have a little bit of BFG and a friend wants to start epic

Personally id love to start a necromunda or mordhime though id need to make terrain up the wazoo.

Im also in torrance / compton so fairly local and have a table at my house/office.

Hello Desubot that's cool! If you don't mind I'd like to check out your table sometime - maybe a game or two once I get the rules down. I'm gonna meet Mikefox for my first game this coming week and hopefully get some pointers about painting as well. When are you usually free?

I'd definitely be interested in a Mordheim campaign, or really any specialist game play. I have a ton of BFG and love to teach the game.

And Mike, thanks for the offer! If you'd like to PM me with what your schedule is like, maybe we can find a time for a game.

Seems like there's a good number of us in the South Bay. Any interest in a regularly scheduled Games Workshop group day?

GK San pedro is ok and relatively close.

Saturdays are nuuuuuuts with a bad egg or two.

Sundays are nice but generally will have about two groups of people that play both tables.

I'm not a big fan of GW stores anyway. Maybe someone in the area can host a small group.

I still have a spot (though in Compton but its an ok spot that is locked up) that can host two or 3 tables if i move around some stuff. but need more terrain n stuff.

Im sure mike wouldn't mind his place ether but i dont speak for him

One day goatman might be able to host once more

otherwise its a drive out to Pasadena or a very crowded LA Bunker (not GW)

I would be up for for a club-like thing as well. I don't have a space, tables, or terrain, but I'm willing to contribute in any way that I can. Compton doesn't bother me at all. Any other location works for me as well. As for terrain, if we got together, we could maybe have a terrain building event where we all bring old broken tanks, plastic bottles, cans, rocks, foam, paint, etc. With enough people, we could probably build up terrain fairly quick.

@ Desubot - I used to work several years back by Rosecrans and Main, is that close to you?

@ extremefreak17 - I passed by Compton everyday to work back then, it doesn't bother me as well. I guess it's obvious which areas to avoid.

I also don't mind helping build terrain, I guess this is where I can finally apply the Architecture classes I took a while back!

Wow, this thread grew since last I've seen it. Been really busy the past few months so I've been neglecting my Angels. On Friday something clicked and I actually put some glue to plastic. It'd be nice to play a few games.

I like the idea of a terrain building event. Great for sharing resources, ideas, and expertise.

I know I for one could use some help making BFG terrain for an event I'm running for a Labor Day weekend gaming convention...

The place is on the 91 freeway and Wilmington on the corner so fairly assessable.

Its a Industrial type warehouse area right next to the big Ralph distribution center so not much ever happens.

Hey dude, if you need manpower and/or drinks one weekend to setup let me know. I'm usually available Saturdays and Sunday afternoons.

Just to re-introduce myself: I moved into LA about 1 year ago from Virginia and I have about 2k worth of Blood Angels in various stages of completion. I haven't played consistently since early 6th ed. and recently I've been pretty busy with the job and other hobbies. I'd definitely like to get back into 40k so I'll probably need a few refresher games just to get the cogs dusted.

If anyone's willing I'd be down for a game this Saturday. Competitive, laid back, it's all good to me.

So since it seems there is some interest in it, those of you guys that want to come by the following Saturday (the 30th)

Send me a pm so i can see how many and how many tables IL need to grab and terrain and stuff.

Hey I just moved down to Torrance (Crenshaw and Sepulveda). Not really familiar to the area but I would be happy to get some 40k games. I don't have any space to play but I would be down meet up. Just shoot me a PM.

That's Labor Day weekend. It might be harder to get people together for that. I know I'll be out of town.

Going forward though, I'd be up for a weekend thing.

I got a buddy coming in Labor Day weekend so I won't be able to attend.

Ultrafool, that's pretty close to where I live in Redondo, PCH and Avenue F. Unfortunately I don't have any space at my place either. Apartments and homes in LA are built or tiny people.

Oh balls that's right.... I guess the sat after. Also the warehouse space is avaliable after 6ish on the week days so if y all want a pickup game during then give me a pm

Hey guys, If you're meeting the weekend after the labor day weekend, count me in!

Yeah the games at my place have been going very well. I have room for more tables if people can bring scenery and tables. Might have to set up a small 6 or 8 man tournament in September; the first semi bi annual Fox RTT Invitational.

We could also host scenery building days here since I am a scenery master and can give people pointers/help if they need it.

Anyone interested?

That tourney sounds pretty fun. I've always wanted to participate in one, but never got the chance.

I'd totally be down for scenery building days. I can help provide foam or any materials as needed.
