OK, I think this is just a glitch with the software, but I want to make sure I am not doing something wrong:

A noise marine can swap his boltgun for a CCW for free.
He can swap his boltgun for a sonic blaster for a 'X' points.
Now, just before that, it says a noise marine may add a CCW for a point per model.

However, when I go to army builder, if I take a squad of 10 Noise marines, it will only let me take a max combination of 10 sonic blasters and/or CCW. For example, if I take 6 SB, it only lets me take 4 CCW, etc. What I want is 10 noise marines with sonic blasters and 10 CCW (at a price of 'X'+1 points per model). I was under the impression this was legal, but I am wondering if I am missing something.

Also, the software does not allow the Noise Champion to take a sonic blaster. Is this correct as well?

Can one of my Brothers of the Dark Gods answer this for me?

I'm pretty sure the Blasters aren't CCWs as well, so why spend points on a CCW when you won't be getting a bonus attack?

And according to my codex you can either buy a CCW or trade your bolter for a CCW/Blaster. You can't buy a CCW and trade.

And no, it doesn't look like the Champ can have one.

Which doesn't address either question...

Although I was mistaken - they have a pistol, so blaster + pistol and CCW would be beneficial if you could get it. But you can't...

It says a noise marine may add a CCW for one point.
The next line says it may swap his boltgun for a sonic blaster.

What am I missing that says you cannot do both? Sorry if I need this spelled out for me. I am just not seeing it.

This is where I am not sure. It says you can swap a boltgun for CCW for free, but the line above that says you can add one for a point. Am I missing something?

I meant my reading fail - not yours. I did my best politician impression and answered the question I thought had been asked, rather than the actual question.

and on topic
I don't think the codex gives the option for the champion to have a sonic blaster - this came up in my last csm game - we couldn't find permission for it.

The champ has a ccw and bolter and bolt pistol check the faq.

The entry on noise marines is written as such that you can have a combat orientated model that has bp, ccw and bolter OR have a noise marines with sonic blaster.

It is because the OR is a the same indentation as the previous option making them dependent on one another. You can do a or b but not both.

It's not the size of the blade, it's how you use it.

And this is why I rely on pencil, paper and calculator. However, since I have my comp with me when I play (for all the FAQs and background music), I'll also have a typed up version which is easier to read.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

Excel or open office's version is just as good if you have read the codex a couple of times.

Let me recheck my codex when I get back. I did not see the OR at the top. This would not be the first time I have missed something.

I don't know how I missed that gigantic capitalized OR at the beginning of the 2nd sentence.

Thanks everyone. I will crawl back under my rock.

All you did was ask a question - nothing to crawl under a rock about. Unless it's comfy
