My lists have been failing pretty hard lately. Maybe it's just my playstyle. This list focuses on one of the guard key rules every unit is expendable.

Expendable in guard means more bodies. Which means take massive infantry blobs and then mix in a couple vet squads

ALWAYS MARBO, IG Force Organisation requires you take 1 HQ, 2 Troops and MARBO. No Exceptions

Well, if your using base rules, your list is illegal because you can only have a max of 6 troop choices.

There are 7 mech vets. 1 behind aegis.
Can't see platoons working on a mechanized front. Bs 3 only 1 weap per infantry squad.
Maybe I can work in marb.
Ig mech took a hit with 6th and hull points but I think it's still viable.

How come you've got 8 veteran squads? Are you playing with the double force organization chart?

If you need to limit troop numbers you could switch out a couple of vet squads for an infantry platoon. It'd allow you to field more chimera for armour saturation.

PCS with 3 meltas in chimera 115
Infantry squad with autocannon and grenade launcher in chimera 120
Infantry squad with autocannon and grenade launcher in chimera 120

You can use the CCS as a suicide unit and keep the infantry squads back as objective holders

Consider dropping a few dozers to give the aegis vets forward sentries or harker for +1 cover or stealth.

I like the Harker idea.
Dunno about forward sentries is it really effective?

It is camo-cloaks effectivily on your Vets, so yes, going from a 5+ cover save to a 4+ cover save is better. If you have Harker in there and he grants Stealth, you go down to a 3+ cover save. IF your behind a ADL you would have a 2+ cover save. The Defensive nades part of Foreward Sentries give you Stealth if the shooter is within 8" (interesting to know really but not helpful with Harker) but you can not go to ground to gain this and the enemy does not gain +1 attacks from charging you. All in all, a solid pick-up.

I like my Harker unit with a second HB and 3 Plasma guns. I use them as a foreward firing base to kill infantry and for light AT work (like only AV 11 or less light). But if you have them hang back behind the ADL, I could see them as an effective rear area guard unit as your mech force moves forward.

You could always mech that first vets squad and let the lieutenant man the quad gun hes bs4 too and give the squad flamers to wall of death anything that tries to assault you

I like the idea, but I think I want 10 guys behind the aegis as it will probably have an objective in case they get shot at and take casualties.
Final list looks like

What does the Primaris Psyker add to this list? A CCS with a lascannon at least offers something in terms of fire power. Can easily be put behind the aegis or in a chimera. Cost 70ots too. Food for thought. Also harder to kill than a single model for warlord

For the HQ I'd consider a CCS with 3 or 4 plasmas in a chimera - fire on my target can be great against monstrous creatures and vehicles, plus it lets you re-roll any overheats you roll They're less survivable maybe, but they're cheaper than a plasma vet squad and they allow you opportunity to use a few orders too...

Primaris brings some decent psyker powers.
I prefer telepathy in most cases 2/4 chance you'll get puppet master which rocks. If you don't you always have psykic shriek which I think is better than a ccs. Plus you put him with a core troop and get 2+ lookout sir and his units scoring. Win win

Wish they could score. This list focuses on everything scoring!!!

Pretty sure the Primus Psyker is only Mastery level 1, so he gets one roll... you have a 1/6 chance of getting the power you want.

DoomMouse:
Remember that you can issue Orders out of a Chimera, but not to a unit in a Chimera... including the CCS giving Orders to itself inside it's own Chimera. Apparently it is super loud inside of those things and they don't remember how to make head-sets. :p

But on that note, I have to agree that a point for point swap for a PP for a CCS with a LC is a better choice and you have two models for 'Look Out Sir!'. You have your choice of BS 4 guys to man the ADL gun and the CCS can issue 'Bring it Down!' to itself and the Vet Squad back there to make them even more deadly. Why I might go Icarus LC then over the Quad and use that 15pts to slap on a plasma to the CCS or get 5pts more and give them camo-cloaks to give them a 3+ cover save behind the ADL.

So this is the final list recommendations taken and effective. Lost first game though mostly secondary to a poor deployment as I had like three chimeras way out of position. Went against tyranid monstorous creature spam list. Was a close game. Looking forward to the next one.

It's not easy deploying everything in posotion with this many vehicles.

The primaris is level one but he gets to swap out both the shrouding power and his lightening.one but can only cast one a turn, biomancy is my personal favourite either the relentless/fnp one or the d3 T & S buffs and who doesn't like to see haemorrhage rip through someone's favourite squad?
