Gearing up for my first game tomorrow and gonna keep it basic, following the quick start guides gonna play a game with my son but have 2 questions that the QSR don't really address.
1. The Lt.'s extra order, how do you use this without revealing who the Lt. is?
2. If a move order is taken and the area that is crossed leaves the model open to an ARO but they area is small and that unit starts and ends the unit concealed does the ARO model still get to make a shooting attack. For example say there is a door that is open the model starts the movement on 1 side of it and crosses to another it started and finished the movement concealed from the model in the room, would you stop the moving model at the door to make the attack? Or would that attack not happen at all?

Thanks for your time.

Thus, After having thus successively taken each member of the community in its powerful grasp and fashioned him at will, the supreme power then extends its arm over the whole community. It covers the surface of society with a network of small complicated rules, minute and uniform, through which the most original minds and the most energetic characters cannot penetrate, to rise above the crowd. The will of man is not shattered, but softened, bent, and guided; men are seldom forced by it to act, but they are constantly restrained from acting. Such a power does not destroy, but it prevents existence; it does not tyrannize, but it compresses, enervates, extinguishes, and stupefies a people, till each nation is reduced to nothing better than a flock of timid and industrious animals, of which the government is the shepherd

1. If you use it on yourself you don't need to say that it's the special order. Using it to pass a guts check doesn't reveal him either.

2. If a model gets LOS at some point during the order he gets an ARO, so the guy in the room would get an attack. The model outside the room would still end on the other side of the door though.

LT order isn't a compulsory one.
You can use it on the LT model without revealing him/her (it's up to your opponent to figure out by what figures do what as to whom is the LT) - also, you can use it to auto pass a guts check OR to re-create a link team and neither of these revel LT either.

In situation 2 you can spend your full order to move across the gap using Cautious Movement. If you start and end your movement out of LOS when using a Catious Move you do not generate any AROs even if models get LOS to part of the movement (i.e. walking past the door).

Are you using the QSR or the main rules? That changes what the answers will be.

1. The QSR force Lieutenants are not hidden and the LT Order is explained on p16 of the booklet. The Guts Rolls that people are mentioning are not used in the QSR.
2. Cautious Move also isn't in the QSR. Remember that models can shoot and be shot at any point during their move because both skills are happening at the same time.

1. In a more gameplay format, imagine you have a Lt and three other models. That gives me 4 Orders and one Lt Order.

You could just spend one Regular order on each model and the additional Lt Order on your Lieutenant for an additional order.

Or, you could spend the Lt Order on the Lieutenant, 3 Orders on each of the three other models, and that last regular order on a model that has acted already this turn.

In each scenario, every model moves once with one model moving twice. From the perspective of your opponent, it's hard to tell which one got the Lt Order and which got a regular order, and each scenario is basically identical.

Long story short, use the Lt Order as if you were using a regular order.

2. As people have said, you're looking for Cautious Move:
