Such a horrible ending. I hate endings like that. Just like that Descent movie. Mind you, it wasn't a particularly great movie before the ending, but after? I wanted to hurt the guy who directed that pile of gak.
It's terrible in a good way though. It fits the themes of the piece and given the Lovecraftian slanting it fits so well. Descent was just a terrible movie that only served as an excuse to kill people on screen with some wonky dream facade masquerading as a psyche plot.

Ah that sucks. But they probably won't think much worse of you because of it. I screamed like a little girl when I watched the Ring with my first girlfriend (I know, I suck at fright movies) and still got hot sexy time afterwards.

I guess I don't like moral dilemmas anyway. I always think I'd end up acting differently, and hate characters that take the worst way. It kinda keeps me from enjoying Walking Dead, for exemple. I wanted to break Lori's pretty little nose when she started arguing if they shouldn't let Carl die. And Shane... For feth's sake...
Why Lovacraftian, tho? Beyond the big Cthulu-esque beast at the end, I don't really see it. Lovecraft never included children in his stories, and it was more about 'slow descent into madness' than moral dilemmas.

Agreed. A terrible, terrible movie.

Woman comes in to his life unexpectedly while he's trying to kill himself, eats his bacon (He was saving it), shows the mutants his hideout, then gets him killed!
Women.

It's more of a slant than full Lovecraftian. Malevolant creatures from another worth (aka Eldrich abominations) and this crazy religious angle going on in a plot that's really about faith. The film is always toying with how people will believe things, regardless of evidence or truth, based solely on their circumstances and bias at any given time. Hence the ending. Which plays with that idea darkly especially when:
Spoiler:
WHen the women who most of the audience wrote of as dead much earlier in the film for running into the mist to get her children is revealed to be alive and safe with her children in the back of an Army truck
Spec Ops the Line (Surprised no one mentioned this)
Spoiler:
Captain Walker depending on your ending that you choose either but doesn't really matter what you choose because your royally screwed either way.
You have Killed 47 people with white phosphorus and a few platoon's of soldiers , a ton of American Soldiers and royally screwed the city over.
You at the end as Captain Walker either 1) Kill yourself 2) live ----> then die to Falcon 1 thus forgoing everyone and hiding what actually happened at dubai 3) Live---> Kill the entire Falcon 1 thus giving into your insanity and giving a taste of what actually happened in Dubai. 4) Live---> give up to Falcon 1 and go home, and most likely go home with PTSD
Not only that but it also shows that you were trying to rationalize that you were not the bad guy but you really were. If you had put down the controller and stopped playing the game. You would of not killed those innocent people. This game irks me and still scares me for doing that. All your men dead, your the only left. you are left alone fighting for a cause that you think is good. When you yourself are the bad guy. Your the jerk that has caused the entire remaining survivors of Dubai to die. All you should of done was to call the Calvary.

I am both selfish and chaotic. I value self-gratification and control; I want to have things my way, preferably now. At best, I'm entertaining and surprising; at worst, I'm hedonistic and violent.

Here's one that usually crops up in these kinds of lists that I'm surprised hasn't been mentioned yet...Return of the Jedi! How much of ENdor was laid waste after a structure the size fo a small moon exploded in orbit?
Actually that reminds me of the ending of the Dark Empire/Empire's End Star Wars comic book series.
Spoiler:
The Emperor comes back as a clone, but in the end he is defeated and his new planet-destroying superweapon, in its death throes, fires a random shot that destroys Byss, his capital world. When we see Byss it's clear that it is heavily populated, so a lot of civilians must have died.

Apparently these stories we're being told are the only interesting parts of the character's lives.
Not really, as part of what makes a story is what details the author intends to leave in or remove from the character's life, basically what he or she finds important.

Its about a species of creatures called Naluitis that live on the world of Ekluta. In the end, the Naluitis get saved by the Blasho, which is kind of like a hero person from the race of the evil Onklas, but how, they never tells you which is kinda creepy

Did you take that directly from scientology? Sure reads that way.

Wait, so you are finding creepy the ending of a story you wrote yourself because you couldn't be bothered to write a good ending?
Oh wait, troll. Right.

The last man standing kills everyone, including his son, because they think they are doomed and it turns out they were mere seconds away from being rescued.
I laughed so, so hard at that in the theater. Absolutely hilarious.
Uh, disturbing endings.... Super 8 bugged me. I mean, good movie all around, but they did the whole
Spoiler:

In regards to Super 8... I just had problems with it.
Spoiler:
-was it at scary creature flick? or a bunch of kids being onery (ala, Goonies)... It was a flick that the director/producer/writer couldn't make up their minds and ruined a potentially GREAT film.

You know what has always, always disturbed me? The ending to the Breakfast Club.
Specifically, how it went for Ally Sheedy. At the beginning of the movie, she was all alternative and independent, going her own way.
Then at the end of the movie, she completely transformed into mainstream clothes and hair and chased a boy.
