Thanks you guys. Necrons + Ork works really well. If you use boyz as meat shields, you can then get your Warriors within rapid fire range, without being blown to bits by shooty armies.

I hate it when people call my models "action figures."

strange that. I would think they were as different as chalk and cheese.
Necrons:slow army,ranged based.( I play a small force)
orks:never played them,but insane amounts of atks,str and troops would make me think they run as much as possible.
They are two very different fighting stykes. Maybe worth considering. Hmn......
