Hello everyone

I am wondering if it is possible to strip this spraypaint

http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXRS79

Off of a forgeworld model.

I have a contemptor i used this as a basecoat on, and i want to strip it down and start from bare resin. The Tamiya seems to be the culprit of why the paint didnt take properly so i wish to Strip it down and start over with my regular basecoat (which is a local brand of laquer spraypaint, and works wonderfully.)

is it safe to try strip the model with Brake fluid?

I haven't used that spray but using super clean I've been able to strip other spray primers off of forge world resin, plastics, and metal.

Left them in for 24 hours and scrubbed with a toothbrush and boom clean.

Hope that helps a little,

I am not sure if superclean is available here. I would have to do research

I've used that spray paint on plastics and it stays on like nobody's business...I haven't been able to get it off no matter how long I soak the pieces in simple green

try simple green if you can get a hold of it. I heard from my dad it works pretty well for getting paint off of plastic and resin.

Painted a 10 man BA assault squad in that stuff and regret not doing a test model first, best advice i can give is a thin layer of varnish then your new base coat. Not only is it awful to remove gut also i found it really horribe to paint over. my paints just seemed to slide about on its surface. another way around it that i managed was to literaly drench it in wash (i used devlan mud) a few heavy coats, then it started to take paint.

Also see if you can get "Fairy Powerspray". Although I have not tried taking off the paint you mention, it has tried to get the paint off my garage door in a couple of minutes, and it has not harmed a Vinyl model I was stripping and left in there for weeks.

"Ask ten different scientists about the environment, population control, genetics, and you'll get ten different answers, but there's one thing every scientist on the planet agrees on. Whether it happens in a hundred years or a thousand years or a million years, eventually our Sun will grow cold and go out. When that happens, it won't just take us. It'll take Marilyn Monroe, and Lao-Tzu, and Einstein, and Morobuto, and Buddy Holly, and Aristophanes…then all of this…all of this…was for nothing. Unless we go to the stars."
