So I decided to play Elysians (using the UAMC Colonial Marines) and before I actually buy the flyers from Forgeworld, wanted some pointers and some tips from anyone who plays them regularly. Here is the list I've pointed out,,

HQ: 85pts
Company Command Squad: Plasmagun, Regimental Standard: 85pts

Troops:
Platoon: 605pts
Platoon Command Squad: Plasmagun
Infantry Squad: Plasmagun
Infantry Squad: Plasmagun
Infantry Squad: Plasmagun
Infantry Squad: Meltagun
Infantry Squad: Meltagun

Heavy Weapons Squad: 3x Missile Launchers
Heavy Weapons Squad: 3x Missile Launchers

Veteran Squad: 3x Plasmaguns: 125pts
Veteran Squad: 3x Meltaguns: 110pts
Veteran Squad: 3x Plasmaguns: 125pts

Fast Attack: 390pts
Vendetta: 130pts
Vendetta: 130pts
Vendetta: 130pts

Heavy Support: 310pts
Vulture Gunship: Twin Punisher Cannons: 155pts
Vulture Gunship: Twin Punisher Cannons: 155pts

Fortifications: 100pts
Aegis Defense Line: Quad Cannon: 100pts.

Needs more Valkyries. Right now you don't really have anything that can't be done with the standard codex, so why bother with the Elysian list? What you want to do is build your list around veterans in Vendettas/Valkyries (since your limiting factor will be the number of aircraft you can afford and fit on the table you want to maximize the infantry firepower you can fit in them) with Vultures as heavy support.

Also, don't commit to a list yet. FW have said the Elysians are getting updated for 6th, including a "drop pod assault" rule where you don't auto-lose by putting everything in reserve aboard a transport. You're safe with building a few flyers and veteran squads, but don't take it all the way to a final 1850 until you see the update.

Really, then I'll wait to play Elysians. I have all the infantry models I need so I just need to buy Vultures, Some Valks, and either IA8 or the new Elysian book if it isn't just a pdf update.

Did you happen to hear when those revisions will be released or there abouts?
