Would like some feedback please guys. Reason I'm taking three big squads instead of smaller squads is so that I can combat squa if need be and split into shooting 5 man and combat 5 man squads or if its a kill points game just keep the big squads. I should be able to deal with most army's with this but will struggle with heavy armor lists but nothing deathwing can do about that. Anyhows let me know what you think. Cheers guys.

30 termies is a pain for any list to remove but I have a couple of questions.
How do you plan to deploy?
Are you certain you can combat squad?

Yea I dead can combat squad. Which is great. And deployment can change every time. That the nice thing about deathwing assault. I have loads of options. Can keep all off the table and deep strike all turn one or I can deploy on the board I can combat squad I can put stuff in normal reserve. It's very flexible tbh

I was going to recommend just keeping 1 squad as a 10-man with the Librarian and Belial attached. Split the other 2 10-man into 4 x 5-man. It is going to provide you with the ability to spread them out more.

The other I am questioning now is the TH/SS termies. I know they are strong but perhaps just make the Sergent with TH/SS.
With the ability to split fire, giving up those stormbolters and paying for the privilege of giving them up, makes me wonder.

No your right they can't combat squad. Ok what do I take then ? This has mixed things up for me lol. Prob take a big ten man and 4 5 man squads. What do you think ?

Well they really just take the plasma and melta shots. Place at the front etc. yea it's great having the sarge with them as well for the challange

Lose 3 TH/SS termies and you have 45 points.
I would think about adding a power field generator to the librarian for a 4++ save in a 3" radius. Really nice when you teleport in. Another thought would be to add in two Techmarines with powerfield generators... Again they allow you to deepstrike in and provide 4++ bubbles for your squads.

Damn, forgot the techmarines cannot deepstrike. Too bad. Might be good if you plan on leaving a squad on board though.

If you cut down the numbers on your squads, I'd add a black knight termie squad of 5. Drop them with belial and you have a tough unit to kill, or with the librarian with the PFG.

To be honest I can't drop number it's 32 men ATM which is really low. I suppose I could drop the lvl 2 mastery and bring a power field that might work. The th/ss are only 5 points so that's a real bargain I think.

A note on TH/SS DW.

When you deepstrike 10 termies + 2 HQ's into your opponents deployment zone you are certain to have all of his high str Ap 1 and 2 weapons firing at you. I'd rather loose a few storm bolter shots and have more termies alive for the turns to come.
1 TH/SS is not going to cut it. I played 5 games over the weekend and I am now putting 8 TH/SS on my 10 man squad with Belial.
I was aggressive with their deepstrike and for the first 2/3 turns every game I ate some serious shooting until I managed to get into assault or die.
With so much ap 1/2 shooting out there a 5+ to save a 44 point model just plain sucks. I'll take a 49 point model with a 3+ anyday.

As terminators MAY come in by deepstrike, they can't be ignored when counting units that start in reserve for the 50% that must be on board on turn1... thought i remind about that, or is there a special rule for DW assault that bypasses this restriction?

No, you can still only have 50% in reserves.

Id take one 10 man squad to Deep Strike with Belial, a 5 man to deep strike with the Libby, then a 10 and a 5 to start on the board.

Don't you use heavy weapons in that squad? I'm a bit confused because the seargent has to use his powersword since last GW FAQ.

Yes it got FAQ'ed but you have to deploy half your units on the board regardless of deathwing Assault.

Yep, DW assault counts towards your 50% numbers. Also remember that an HQ is 1 "unit" so Belial + a squad counts as 2. Makes all DW very difficult to do now. And as for the TH/SS thing on sgts, they now have to take the sword and SB combo and cannot be given anything else. Don't even get me started on how dumb that is, but it's the truth. I personally will not be changing my models because when I made them it was allowed. Then GW FAQ'd my models into being illegal, forcing me to buy more models. So I am not buying more models.

As for the TH/SS thing, it really depends. I'd say drop a big ten man squad + Belial + Librarian and then keep 2-3 smaller shjooting squads on the table to start the game. You don't always have to drop up in their face. Just drop mid table with the rest of your army supporting them. Also, you can alwasy choose to drop on turn 2. It's riskier, but it means that more of your army will be in range to support them when they land. I'd recommend keeping only 50% of the dropping squad with TH/SS. Maybe something like

Sgt w/ sword and SB
5xTH/SS
2x Assault cannon + Power fist
Power Fist, SB
Chainfist, SB

Very versatile squad, doesn't scatter, gets twin-linked on deep strike + all those precision shots from Sgt, Belial, and Librarian (target all the plasmas), and then has a 5 man TH/SS shield way for the inevitable return fire. 8 twin linked assault cannon shots is going to annihilate pretty much anything you want.

Don't be afraid to break off the Librarian into a shooty squad either, when they get up the table, as he can give them prescience and make those CMLs even tastier.
