Very nice pictures taken and a good read, not too long or too short; but as a Chaos player it was frustrating to see that you'd brought nothing which could deal with his Monolith and that your most expensive unit also ends up in a combat where they could do nothing.

To me the Chaos Space Marines needed to be characterised as a threat reaching back to the Imperium's past, a threat which had refused to lie down and become part of history. This is in part why the gods of Chaos are less pivotal in Codex Chaos; we felt that the motivations of Chaos Space Marines should remain their own, no matter how debased and vile. Though the corrupted Space Marines of the Traitor Legions make excellent champions for the gods of Chaos, they are not pawns and have their own agendas of vengeance, empire-building vindication or arcane study which gives them purpose.

Yup, essentially losing 450pts or so from turn 2 on really hurt. The Monolith though, besides getting a lucky hit turn 1, did nothing the whole game so ignoring it was an effective strategy even if I did have more STR 8+.

Sadly that wasn't an option because Fearless units can't use that rule.

That's a pretty sweet color scheme on this Necrons. Simple yet stunning.
... though, I'm surprised that list he brought was able to do as well as it did. That is not a build I could see doing very well in almost any circumstance other than this.
He's really lucky you didn't have anything to threaten his Monolith with, and the fact that the Stalker was more or less invulnerable was a massive stroke of fortune.
