Here's a mini that I got to paint up for a Chaos Dwarf army (along with a number of cannons from Forge World).
He's a Taurus from Todd McFarlane's zodiac action figure range, and not a bad sculpt at all. He's been mounted on a Games Workshop base, glued into his pose, and painted to emphasize fire.
The lighting and blue background in the photos keeps some of the object source lighting from showing up very well. Next time, I'll do a dark background.
Anyway, here he is:

That is pretty great!
How difficult is it painting a toy? I have wanted to do some re-paints on GI JOEs but I was never sure how to treat the figures beforehand.
Did you end up washing the toy (soap, water, Simple Green, ect.) first?
Was it necessary to strip the factory paint before adding your own paint?

I have that same toy as a proxy for a greater deamon. Great work on making it even more menacing!

Great paintjob, not sure about the pose, looks like he's about to sit down or in the process of standing up.

I didn't really do any major work before starting up- other than gluing the joins and gap filling them. Then I just sprayed on some primer and got to work.
In my experience, you really can't get the paint off of most things that come with paint on them (be they pre-painted D&D minis or toys). If some part of the mini is bendy (and you can't get around it sometimes) then the best thing to do is paint on some gloss varnish. Unlike primer, varnish can bend and stretch a little, and so is resistant to chips due to bending.

I was asked specifically to base him this way (with the long end pointing forward).
