Instead of placing a heavy object on the soft resin piece (potentially "squishing" details on smaller pieces), one can simply have a second bowl with very cold water.
Putting the corrected resin piece in cold water instantly "locks in" the new position, preventing that the piece reverts to its previous wrong shape.

Yes of course you can also do this with the cold water, if you have small pieces its better.
