Can a Tau battlesuit with say a Melta Gun and Flamer pop a Chimera then flame its occupants?

Just out of curiosity, what makes you think target lock allows a single crisis suit to fire two weapons at separate targets?

Probably just confused the wording on the Target lock.

The Target lock says that the model may fire at a different target than the unit, it doesn't say you can fire a weapon at a different unit.

I'm expecting an Imperial Knights supplement dedicated to GW's loyalist apologetics. Codex: White Knights "In the grim dark future, everything is fine."

"The argument is that we have to do this or we will, bit by bit,
lose everything that we hold dear, everything that keeps the business going. Our crops will wither, our children will die piteous
deaths and the sun will be swept from the sky."

Haha probably

If only suits had access to Advanced Target Lock, now that could be interesting >.<
Reason I bring it up though is perhaps the player is confusing Advanced Target Lock (what only Shadowsun has) with Target Lock (which every other suit can get).
Even still, Advanced Target Lock doesn't allow Shadowsun to fire one weapon at a time as a unit must fire simultaneously unless given permission.

Sorry,I'm relaying from another person. One model has a Fusion Blaster and the other a Flamer. Apparently, though, it says you select targets simultaneously which IMO means the infantry can't be targeted as they are embarked.

You have to declare all firing for a unit prior to rolling To Hit. Since at the time of declaration the meaty innards of the transports are not available to be shot at they cannot be fired upon.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

Thats the key answer right there. You have to declare the model is firing at a separate target before shooting. Since the unit embarked is not an eligible target, it must target something else.
