Basically, exactly as it says: if you could have any Primarchs duke it out one-on-one, who would you want to see fight, and why?

Edit: Actually, add to this any general Heresy-Era duels you'd like to see, Primarch or not; so Legionnaires etc. too!

Multiple suggestions are of course welcome. There's a similar thread in B&C atm, and I'd love to see people's thoughts on it.

Personally, I'd like to see Horus (pre-Chaos) and Sanguinius duke it out: the closest brothers and (in Corax's eyes) two of the toughest Primarchs.
Khan and Fulgrim I'd like to see also: arguably the two greatest swordsmen going toe-to-toe. Phwoar!

I had already considered that, but this is different (not a free-for-all, interested in personality and even more opinion-based) and is to help me plan my fanfiction-project/alternate Horus-Heresy.

Like I said over at B&C, I'd love to actually see Guilliman versus Alpharius or Omegon. That would be brilliant.
Fulgrim versus Sanguinius would be pretty sweet too.

No arguably about it, fulgrim was one of the best.. Possibly the best, khan wasn't even top 2 swordsman, it's fulgrim, lion, then maybe.khan, not enough info yet on him.

I want a proper duke out between dorn and peturabo, the more we get from the hh books leads me to believe dorn was actually a douche and he really did snub peturabo every chance he got.

Another one is guiliman vs lion.. But we got that one coming anyway.

Sang vs Russ would also rock...who said it had to be good vs bad

Dorn and Peturabo would be great but the one I want to see more than any is Angron and Leman Russ (Even though the HH series says Angron would win, it would be awsome to watch)

Are these duels limited to fighting only? Because I personally would love to see them duke it out in other ways than just simply fighting to the death.

Have Guilliman vs. Alpharius and Horus vs. Lion playing competitively in a game of chess.

All Primarchs ducking it out in an Olympic like tournament.

Ferrus vs Vulkan in a bench pressing contest Oh boy...

Make it so BL…

I'd like to see a duel of the craftsmen between Vulkan and Ferrus Manus or Vulkan and Fulgrim.

An aerial duel between Corax and Sanguinius

And a duel between the barbarians. (Russ and Khan.) Because every gamer wants to see a viking and a mongol fight.

Angronn VS Leman Russ,...

Those brutes could wreck an entire system before a victor would emerge,.. They both are instinctly agressive (when fighting) and are not affraid.. Both have major experience in CC fighting.. They dont go down easy..

Though they are not trained like Sanguinius or Lion'el,Johnson in a ''beautyfull'' style of combat i think it would be a mega awesome battle...

I think the Lion would destroy most,...

he is quite clear of mind, thinks ahead, has immense physical prowess and skill, a lot of skill with the blade..

Though you clearly like Dark Angels,... why give your beloved primarch a safe option? Id like to see him fight Sanguinius,.. Both are skilled with the blade and have greath strength and speed... Now that would be a match,... not like Lorgar, lol, he would probably lose within 3 blows, has to bend the knee before eating the Lions Sword

Being an elite soldier in real life (Not one of those pansy squaddies or sailors!) Gulliman has always appealed to me more than the rest. I can imagine if I had to serve under any one Primarch, It would most definitely be him.

And I just finished Betrayer and heard nothing to make me change my mind, Robutte is just flawless, and he goes toe to toe with two of the fethers one after the other, nothing could convince me he wouldn't be the toughest bastard because he is the consummate professional, he lacks the flaws of the other Primarchs, t makes him less of an interesting character than the others (Corax are Dorn are both a great example of fine and noble characters, flaws and all) but if were talking who the best soldier is, then who else?

Gulliman threw himself into his role more than any other. The Lion, Sanguinius and Russ, and they all had other gak to do, such as dealing with real family troubles (Luther and an insurrection), dealing with their gifts/curses (Sanguinius troubling visions) or going on the ale! (Russ) some were craftsmen, some where painters and artists and sculptors (Fulgrim), and most of the rest have severe emotional issues, Curze, Perturabo, Angron, Lorgar, how would any of those guys compete with him when they are busy doing other things like being depressed or praying!?

Gulliman would spend more time down the gym, more time in the sparring cages, more time duelling, more time studying the art of war.. I cant see how anyone would stand against him when It came to the crunch. He doesn't waste his time with emo/family issues or crying or strapping himself into a pain glove. He spends his time perfecting his skills in war and logistics (of the the most absolutely vital yet overlooked parts of being a general)

I guess I'm biased because I wish he was my CO.

So, I'd go with Gulliman vs any of the Primarchs that don't have severe emotional issues because they would hamstring any real efforts to become a consummate warrior... I honestly believe that bitter spiteful characters would be poorer fighters for it, because they are inherently weak. Evil men by their nature are inherently cowardly, all bitter men are. Only those with heart (Vulkan for example) would have real intestinal fortitude. Someone willing to put others lives before their own.

So id like to see him fight either Alpharius/Omegon (The one/two rebels I actually do admire) Vulkan, the Lion, Khan or Sanguinius.

We are arming Syrian rebels who support ISIS, who is fighting Iran, who is fighting Iraq who we also support against ISIS, while fighting Kurds who we support while they are fighting Syrian rebels.

I would particularly like to see all the 'evil' Primarchs versus the 'loyalist' Primarchs. Nothing says entertaining like Sanguinius, Leman Russ and Guilliman climbing on Horus' power armour trying to punch his face.

Probably not, as of Aurelian.

Beating An'ggrath the Unbound in martial combat, telepathically commanding Horus, psychically tormenting Fulgrim right after he struck him down and crushed his ribcage with his boot, even Angron pauses during a battle to compliment Lorgar's newfound martial prowess.

Lorgar is now a skilled warrior, as well as the second mightiest psyker among the Primarchs.

Guilliman was beaten up by Kor Phaeron.

And it wasn't a hard battle. Kor Phaeron easily stomped him.

Guilliman is a skilled general and governor, but by Primarch standards, he doesn't appear to be as much of a warrior.

Read this, after my comment on this yesterday,.. Lorgar does indeed seems to be an awesome warrior further on in his story, sometime before the actual heresy.. Though i dont think he will drop the Lion easily,.. He might even lose,.. We will never find out for sure

I've edited the title/thread to include non-primarch fights you'd like to see too, so have it at!

Personally, I'd like to see Raldoron vs. Kharn - opposing spectrums of relatively similar Legions.

Loken vs. Argel Tal would be good; supposedly both good swordsmen, but probably not on the same level as Sigismund et al.
Also, I'm not sure Loken gets his dues: in Horus Rising Aximand says he's the best swordsman of the mournival, yet people seem to think Abaddon is? Although this could've just been Aximand trying to get him to fight Lucius...

Presumably pre-Daemon?

Daemon Argel Tal is on par with Kharn, and we know how well Loken would fare against Kharn one on one.

Anyway, I second Kharn vs. Lucius, I really want to see Kharn wipe that smug fething grin off Lucius's face.

As for Primarch duels, I've always been sort of interested in Magnus vs. Sanguinius. Both warriors and psykers of impressive stature, Sanguinius more-so the former, Magnus the latter.
