I am a new Ork player and will mostly be playing various marines and MC Nid lists (no flyers) in fun semi-competitive games. I like the idea of transport(s) to get my orks into range quicker and more intact. but also think I would need a bullet magnet to distract early fire away from the BW / Lootaz (thus the deffkoptas which could be replaced with a BW with deff rolla if it improved the list). Howz this look ?

95 Big Mek, Kustom Force Field, 'Eavy armor, Bosspole
105 Battlewagon, armor plates, stikkbomb chukka
119 19x Shoota Boys, Big Shoota (insert Big Mek here)

150 20x Shoota Boys, 2x Big Shootas, Nob, 'Eavy armor, Bosspole

150 20x Shoota Boys, 2x Big Shootas, Nob, 'Eavy armor, Bosspole

135 9x Lootas
60 3x Kannon
50 Aegis defence line

135 3x Deffkopta, T/L Rokkits

BTW thanks TableTopJosh for the input from my earlier post.

You actually WANT your opponent to shoot at the Lootas. They go behind the aegis, right? If they get shot up they go to ground for a 2+. They snap fire in their next turn which really doesn't reduce their killing power much.

I would find points for a death rolla. It will come in handy against big armor.

I'd loose the deffkoptas and take either 9 more lootas, or another deffrolla battlewagon. With just 1 atm, sure they're durable but not THAT durable they can fly solo. I think you'd probably want a 2nd battle wagon at least. That then leaves the difficulty of having 1 mob foot slogging it so they'd probably be cut down. You could squeeze in 3 battlewagons if you dropped the kannons and deffkoptas if you ran with just armour plates. The stikkbomb chucka isn't very useful. At I2 its not very beneficial to be able to attack in initiative order when going through terrain.

KFF - 95
19 Shootas - 119
20 shootas - 150
20 shootas - 150
9 lootas - 135
ADL - 50
BW - 100 (plates)
BW - 100 ^
BW - 100 ^ = 999total

A tight squeeze, but it could be advisable to loose the plates on 2 to get a deff rolla on 1 of them. Other than the lootas there is quite a lack of high strength hits.

Now everything's a bullet magnet and there's only so many bullets to go around

If your attack is going too well, you have walked into an ambush

The easy way is always mined

95 Big Mek, Kustom Force Field, 'Eavy armor, Bosspole I personally don't find KFF mek so usefull anymore. 4+ wasn't something you could count on in 5th ed and the current 5+ is even more unreliable. Warboss with mega armor costs 100points (and you have to lose 1 boy) which makes warboss much better option.

105 Battlewagon, armor plates, stikkbomb chukka Stikkbomb chukka is pointless as you don't get +1 I from furious charge and you can't use the stikkbombs during shooting phase (only works on assault, see codex)
119 19x Shoota Boys, Big Shoota (insert Big Mek here)

150 20x Shoota Boys, 2x Big Shootas, Nob, 'Eavy armor, Bosspole What is the nob going to do? He has no weapon and he wears heave armor. Presicion shots aren't scary and wasting points on armor is pointless. The best equipment for the nob are pk (pure offensive power, big choppa is useless), stikkbomb (1 point isn't going to break the bank and he can use it to shoot) and bossbole (for non trukk boyz)

150 20x Shoota Boys, 2x Big Shootas, Nob, 'Eavy armor, Bosspole

135 9x Lootas
60 3x Kannon
50 Aegis defence line

135 3x Deffkopta, T/L Rokkits You can get a 135pts dakkajet with all the toyz.

Every time I hear "in my opinion" or "just my opinion" makes me want to strangle a puppy. People use their opinions as a shield that other poeple can't critisize and that is bs.

If you can't defend or won't defend your opinion then that "opinion" is bs. Stop trying to tip-toe and defend what you believe in.

Thanks illuknisaa. I like the Dakkajet idea as the MC Nid list has a Flyrant and I can swap with Deffkoptaz again if facing an armor heavy list (or a BW with Deffrolla)

I wrote up a list with your suggestions (Drop Stikchukkaz, DKoptaz -> DJet, BMek -> WBoss, Replace 'eArm on Nobs with P/Klaw) but my list is now 1038pt or 1048 with cybork Warboss (the two P/Klawz at 50 pts put it over the top).

Any suggestion where I should best recover the 40-50 points from ?

I got total of 1018 with this list:

105 mega warboss, bosspole (put warboss in the front of the enemy weapons (unless they are ap 2), warboss acts as a meatshield for the boyz)
100 Battlewagon, armor plates
123 18x Shoota Boys, Big Shoota, Nob (insert warboss here, nob is a challenge shield for the boss)

135 20x Shoota Boys, 2x Big Shootas,

175 20x Shoota Boys, 2x Big Shootas, Nob, pk, Bosspole

135 9x Lootas
60 3x Kannon
50 Aegis defence line

135 3x Deffkopta, T/L Rokkits /dakkajet 135

First thing I will lose is red paint job for the dakkajet. Second is the armor plates for the bw because I don't think armor plates will help you much when you are open topped. Last thing is the big shoota from the warboss unit. This should take the points to 998. With 2 points you can buy stikkbombs for the 2 nobz.

You also might want to consider changing the warboss unit's boyz to sluggas as you can't overwatch due to slow and purposefull and you only snap fire when moving the bw.
